Celebrating the 18th Annual Comcast Cares Day

Comcast Cares Day volunteers

On May 4, we volunteered with more than 3,000 volunteers to make change happen at part of the 18th annual Comcast Cares Day here in Washington. Each year Comcast NBCUniversal employees and their families, friends and community partners get together around the world through Comcast Cares Day to make a difference in their communities.

Parents: get in on the fun with the Swagtron K8 Titan kick scooter

Swagtron riding

Not just another kids’ ride, the K8 from Swagtron was built to withstand grownup weight and accommodate grownup heights. No longer do we need to take turns or throw out our backs scooting about the neighborhood, because the K8 gives me my own lightweight and foldable scooter with adult-sized adjustments that has all the bells and whistles that I could have ever asked for.

Exploring Cap Sante Park in Anacortes, WA

Anacortes hike Cap Sante

During our recent visit to Anacortes, WA we stumbled upon the Cap Sante Park while looking for a short hike to do with the kids. We had talked about just heading back to the hike we did in Mount Vernon and then saw a small picture of Cap Sante and was sold. Honestly though, pictures don’t even do it justice. Cap Sante is a magical little place with a view of Fidalgo Bay that is to die for.

Fall and summer in Seattle may get all the glory, but spring around the Seattle area is something quite spectacular, too. With flowers, greenery, and gorgeous light, babies animals to visit, enjoyable beaches, and road trips galore, there’s so much to see and do during a Seattle spring.

It’s tulip time, Washington

Skagit Valley Tulips

It’s time for tulips, Washington State! It’s one of my favorite spring traditions and this year we got lucky and somehow missed all the crowds and almost had the field to ourselves.

Lunchbox love: origami paper towels

Brawny paper towel origami

The new Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels with perforated quarter-size sheets makes it easy to add to lunches and fold into all sorts of shapes – use the full sheet, a half sheet, or a quarter sheet. I may never be able to pull off the themed lunches that circulate the internet, but I can make any lunch *seem* themed by the simple addition of Brawny® origami.

The perfect first gift with Corolle dolls

Corolle girls 2

We’re so excited to celebrate Corolle’s 40th birthday this year, especially since many of those years I’ve personally shared in the Corolle love. We’re officially a second-generation Corolle family, sharing the sweet vanilla scented love of their adorable baby dolls and fun accessories for all ages and stages.

Here comes the Easter bunny with the Steiff Candy Rabbit

Bunny Ear Steiff

We fell in love with Steiff while expecting our first, and the first thing we bought for her was a special Steiff bear. That special bear has now been joined by dozens of friends on her shelf, and it’s one of our favorite things to collect as a family. I love that each animal or piece is representative of a certain season or specific time, and the newest Candy Rabbit from Steiff is sure to become a beloved friend as well.

Power whenever and wherever you need it with myCharge

MyCharge lay flat

I met with myCharge at CES and was so excited about what I saw – they literally have a portable and convenient way to charge anything with a cord. Lipstick sized, cell phone sized, or book sized, they have it all and it can keep just about any electronic charged and ready to go. You never realize how dependent you are on electricity until the power flickers and you experience that moment of sheer panic.
