A big thank you to Swagtron for sending their Swagtron K8 Titan kick scooter for review. All opinions are 100% ours and no form of monetary compensation was received for this Rave Review.I’m sure by now you’ve seen the movement encouraging moms and dads to get in the picture and take photos with their kids, right? As a photographer and mom, of course I’m on board with that. Get in the picture, parents. But, I’m going to take that one step further and suggest that it’s not just about pictures – it’s about enjoying these moments together as a family and making lasting memories.
One way to do that is to make sure you get in on the fun, too. While I’m still not big on park play areas and ball pits, it turns out that I love zooming around the neighborhood maybe even more than they do. So, we try and take a neighborhood bike or scooter walk a few times a week. It used to be when they would choose scooters my heart would drop a bit, because that meant sharing a ride with my oldest and taking turns riding it. But, even worse is that it also meant that I was riding in a stooped position when I could take the wheel {or, handles?} since I was technically on a kids’ scooter at my very adult height.
We love the Swagtron K8 Titan kick scooter
The K8 Titan kick scooter that landed on our doorstep solved all of our scooting problems. Not just another kids’ ride, the K8 from Swagtron was built to withstand grownup weight and accommodate grownup heights. No longer do we need to take turns or throw out our backs scooting about the neighborhood, because the K8 gives me my own lightweight and foldable scooter that has all the bells and whistles that I could have ever asked for. Quite literally, really, since it comes with its own minimalistic bell integrated into the handlebars.
The K8 has an awesomely easy tool-free design, so you won’t need any special tools to put it together. Just remove the scooter and the manual from the box, click together the handles, then flip the latch to unfold and adjust and then you’re ready to ride. In less than two minutes you will be kicking around and ready to roll, which makes it the perfect school pickup ride on and the best way to meet up with friends at a local park.
While I love the sleek and stylish look of the K8 and how easy it is to fold and unfold, I really didn’t fall in love until I started scooting. With its lightweight design and its oversized wheels built for speed, the K8 can really cruise on flat pavement. The wheels do so much better at absorbing shock than other kid scooters, and my whole body is grateful for that. There was a time when I didn’t worry about shock absorption, but then there was also a time when I didn’t need an adult height scooter and I think we’ve established that those days are behind me.
This summer has big plans for resuming our “scoot town” with real scooter-friendly chalk roads and all sorts of town amenities, all thanks to this little gem that got us all out scooting as a family and having fun this spring. If you have little scooter fans, do yourself a favor and get yourself an adult scooter as well. The kids won’t remember what purse you had growing up or whether your shoes were the latest style, but they will remember how you got out and played with them frequently and all the memories you made together.
With my oldest quickly gaining on me in height, we’re definitely going to be buying another K8 for her to use. I give her a few more months until she officially outgrows kid scooters and is welcomed into the era of extra bells and whistles, shocks, large wheels, and the ultimate in height adjustment. Oh man, is she in for a treat.

I didn’t even know that adult kick scooters existed, but now I want one so bad!
