My kids love to text and call their dad throughout the day while he’s at work, but I hate to leave them unattended with my cell phone. This means I’m constantly guarding my phone and making sure it’s locked down, and the kids try their best to convince me to take their pictures and send it to daddy all day long.

They are having so much fun messaging each other and their daddy, and I love seeing their comment threads at the end of the day. Between my daughter newfound sounding out words to my son's sweet little voice recordings, these messages are capturing moments of time I wouldn't otherwise be able to share with my husband.

Another feature I'm really excited about is that they can talk with friends and cousins who have an InnoTab 3S and who have been given their account ID information through Kid Connect. Even though we only have one Vtech InnoTab 3S at our house, since both kids have profiles on the tablet, they can actually still send messages to each other, which I love.

If you're thinking, man, that sounds like a real tablet, you'd be right. While the InnoTab is still ruggedized for kids and can't access anything {or anyone} you haven't approved, it really is the closest thing to a networking device as possible. This makes the tablet feel more like a kid-friendly and age-appropriate smartphone for kids than a toy, which means that they will be playing with it for years and years.

I can’t even tell you how excited I am to play around with the Premium Kid Connect even more and explore with the kiddos all that it can do. While I do feel a teeny bit sorry for my husband who is bound to get a million messages each day full of phonetically spelled words and scribbles, I also know that it’s going to be a huge bonding experience for my kids growing up to be able to feel like daddy is close to them at all times.

  22. My favorite feature of KidConnect is that my kids can send texts or stickers (interact) with each other when connected to WiFi.

  72. My favorite thing about kid connect is that it allows kids to communicate in multiple ways. Text messages, animated stickers, photos and drawings allow kids to share their thoughts and creativity in ways that fit them.
