Introducing the new VTech InnoTab 3S Wi-Fi Learning Tablet

Sponsored post basic disclosure
With the start of school a few weeks ago, my daughter has been thirsting for knowledge. She’s always been a curious kid and very interested in how things work, but this newfound love of learning is unlike anything I ever imagined.

She literally bounds out of bed each day excited to learn, she has trouble falling asleep at night because she’s so excited about what she will learn the next day, and she is constantly looking for things to challenge her new skills. All of this is awesome – really awesome – but it’s also exhausting. Sometimes I want to just “do”, not “teach” as I do, but I hate to discourage someone who is clearly craving lessons.

For this reason, I love that I can give her 30 minutes of tech time with her new VTech InnoTab 3S that arrived last week and it gives me a half hour of alone time to get things done. Instead of interrupting me every few seconds with “how do you spell ___?” or “what sound does ____ make?”, I love that when her VTech time is done she comes running back telling me something new she learned – all on her own.

Of course, it’s not all work during VTech time. She’s reading eBooks, playing games, creating art, and taking a zillion pictures and videos of her view of the world and having a blast doing it. Whether we’re snuggling up together to play or she’s working on some of the same concepts she’s learning in school that day on her own, the VTech InnoTab 3S is an amazing tool.

I’ve talked before about how much we love VTech and specifically the InnoTab line with its portable learning devices that can grow with your child, offers age-appropriate content in a broad library of subjects and that keeps them learning no matter where they are, but I’m raving again about their newest tablet, the VTech InnoTab 3S that was just released.

So, what is it that makes the InnoTab 3S so cool?  Not only is it ruggedized and kid-tough, it’s also kid approved with grown up features like an MP3 music player, e-reader, and more that can grow with your child from pre-K to middle school. With a few upgrades from the last model {InnoTab 2S} like the fact that it has rechargeable batteries instead of disposables and the landscape or horizontal orientation, we're loving the new changes.

Our favorite new feature has got to be the fact that my daughter can "text" me from her tablet, which I love. Even though she's with me 99% of the time, we still like to send each other notes and pictures, and the VTech makes it easier than ever to have this mother-daughter bonding in a way that's exciting and fun for her.

Just look at everything this little tablet has to offer:

Connectivity Changes the Game

VTech Kid Connect is the fast and easy way to help parents stay connected to their kids when apart – anytime, anywhere. Now, preschoolers as young as three years old can emulate their parents and older siblings, allowing them to feel like they are part of the messaging trend but from a kid-safe, kid-friendly tablet. With the InnoTab 3S kids can send text messages and animated stickers to parents’ smartphones. In return, parents can send text messages and stickers to their child’s InnoTab 3S, opening up an interactive dialogue. Plus, kids can stay connected to their friends and siblings by sending messages safely between two InnoTab 3S tablets. And since all communication is approved by parents, they can rest assured their child is only communicating with people they know and trust, making VTech Kid Connect a true breakthrough in kid-safe family networking.

Kid-Safe Browsing
The kid-safe web browser, allows access to age-appropriate websites vetted by VTech’s educational experts. Parents also have the ability to add additional websites, giving them complete control over what sites their child can access. This parental control feature is password protected to ensure kids can’t add websites without their parents’ permission.

Packed with Content, Value and Creativity
The InnoTab 3S features 4 GB of internal memory (expandable to 32 GB with a micro SD card, sold separately), a D-Pad game control and updated creative camera features. For even more value, a rechargeable battery pack with AC adapter comes bundled with the InnoTab 3S, eliminating the need to buy expensive replacement batteries.  The InnoTab 3S also offers all the features from the Innotab 2S, including a kid-safe Wi-Fi connection, a 2 megapixel 180 degree rotating camera, a 5 inch color touch screen and the Read, Play & Create cartridge and included apps such as the MP3 player and photo album and Wish List Maker.

By the end of the year, the Learning Lodge will expand from its current library of 350 titles to over 600 titles that teach reading, math, social studies, handwriting, science, problem solving, geography and more. Parents can even track their child’s learning progress online. New titles for 2013 on the Learning Lodge include Monsters University®, Turbo®, Planes®, Doc McStuffins®, Sofia the First® and more.

  1. I love the Go Go Smart Wheels Airport Playset but the girls I watch has a MobiGo I got for her years ago and she still loves that thing! Plays with it all the time! Thanks!
