Build, code & play with JIMU Robots
It’s incredibly important to me that I introduce my kids to all aspects of STEM-based learning, especially those that aren’t naturally tech-inclined. In my search for tech toys, I’ve found my new favorite toy that truly makes STEM learning fun: The JIMU Robot System. They can build, code, and play with their own customizeable robot for hours and hours of fun, all while learning the basics of robotics.
Gift guide for fans of the Six Minutes podcast
I’ve heard it said that an expert level of any skill requires 5,000 hours of purposeful engagement in a particular area. If this is true, that means that my husband is an *expert* podcast listener. He recently got the kids hooked, and their favorite is the Six Minutes podcast from Gen-Z Media. We’ve created a curated gift guide based on our love of the show just for fans.
Matching Girls Monday: a day at the Seattle zoo
In an extremely rare boy-less day, we got to take these sweet sisters out to the Woodland Park Zoo and let them call the shots. We stayed far longer than I thought we would at the otters, we visited the park we usually skip right by, and we fed the birds that my son isn’t interested in touching. All in all, it was a great day and they looked adorable in their matching Gymboree dresses and leggings.

The future is now: introducing the self-balancing Razor Hovertrax 1.5 hoverboard
Hoverboards are real, you guys. Decades of waiting was worth it, and self-balancing, self-propelled hoverboards are finally a reality. I was only a few years old when I decided that I wanted a hoverboard. Just like the rest of the kids from the 80’s, Back to the Future had sold me on hovering instead of … Read more
Matching Girls Monday: Beaches girls in Turks and Caicos
This last week, we were living it up in Turks & Caicos. It was three years since our last visit, and it was so good to be back. My little one was just a few months old for our last trip, which seems crazy now. My matching girls were living their best life in their … Read more
Back to basics with Quercetti Toys
With a 6+ year age gap, it’s a very rare toy that gets the stamp of approval from all three kids. But, we’ve recently found a common ground in Quercetti Toys this fall. No matter what age kids we’ve been entertaining, the consensus is that Quercetti Toys are amazingly fun. All the toys we’ve tried … Read more
Spooky swizzle sticks and chicken sliders for Halloween
I love Halloween so much. There’s something really fun about not having any set “rules” to follow or expectations that makes it really fun to host parties and entertain guests. Here’s two super quick snacks you can make that will disappear quickly at your next Halloween get together: the spider swizzle stick and the spooky … Read more
