The best Father’s Day gift is something they can use every day and think of you every time they use it. For some, that may be a tie or a briefcase, but for other dads it’s durable work wear that can last through the seasons and keep him comfortable and safe on the job. If you’re looking for the latter, I have the perfect suggestion: BRUNT work wear.

BRUNT has a full lineup of work wear that can handle any jobsite or weather conditions. With comfortable stretch options as well as heavy duty fabrics with reinforced protection, there’s a range of BRUNT gear for anybody. From boots, pants and shorts, all the way to sun protection and waterproof outerwear, BRUNT can cover you from head to toe.
The BRUNT Starter Kit
If you aren’t sure where to start, let me direct you to the Starter Kit, which is a great way to start your BRUNT work wear collection. The Starter Kit allows customers to bundle any boot with a pair of pants or shorts and save 10% on both products. Not only are you saving money, but the Starter Kit actually makes it easier to shop and compare products without feeling overwhelmed by too many choices. I struggle to make choices when I have too many to choose from, so I appreciated using the BRUNT Bundle Builder to shop. The Bundle Builder helps you narrow your focus to boots and pants, walking you through choosing a boot and then onto pants or shorts without overwhelming.

When I first glanced at BRUNT’s full line of work boots and pants that can go from factory to farm and everywhere in between, I wasn’t sure what I was going to end up with. With so many options not only for style but also for waterproofing, reinforcement, and construction it would have been easy to get option overload and not be able to make a decision. But, because the features are all spelled out clearly in the Bundle Builder descriptions, it’s incredibly easy to narrow down which boots and pants would work best for most jobsites.

BRUNT boots
BRUNT has a full line of durable safety work boots available in waterproof, safety toe, pull-on, slip-on, and moc toe styles, but they are all built with BRUNT CUSH’N® technology for all-day comfort. With so many options not only for style but also for boot construction, it would have been easy to get option overload and not be able to make a decision. But, because the features are all spelled out clearly in the Bundle Builder descriptions, it’s incredibly easy to narrow down which would work best for most jobsites.

I always swore I would never get my husband another pair of shoes or boots because he’s really particular about his footwear. Truth be told, in almost 30 years I’ve never successfully surprised him any sort of footwear, but I decided to take a chance on BRUNT. With BRUNT I was able to quickly narrow down my search to a composite toe {for factories and industrial jobsites, but lighter than steel toe} waterproof boot {hello, Washington weather}.

I landed quickly on the Marin 6” Waterproof {Comp Toe}, which is an innovative approach to the classic moc-toe style work boot. The product description said that the Marin overdelivers on comfort and performance while the proprietary waterproof membrane keeps your feet dry, and I was sold. With BRUNT FARMGUARD™ leather that extends the life of your boots while repelling rain, mud and worse, they would be perfect for whatever weather Washington can throw at us. The Marin comes equipped with a nano composite toe and an innovative slip-, oil-, and high-heat-resistant outsole for any work surface. They also have reinforced double- and triple-stitching at stress points to extend the life of your boot.

But, since comfort is also a big concern, I loved learning about all of the ways BRUNT boots are all-day comfortable. To start with, the BRUNT Polyurethane (PU) midsole is longer lasting and provides superior cushioning and support compared to an EVA midsole. Then they include their BRUNT CUSH’N® insoles that feature a nonstick top layer, a memory foam midlayer, a cushy bottom layer, and an anti-odor treatment. And then comes the real magic with the BRUNT SWITCH-FIT™ adjustable width system that lets you easily switch your boots from a regular fit (D) to a relaxed fit (EE) by removing one of the insoles for a more roomy feel.

Even though the Marin boots looked perfect online, the real test was whether or not I could surprise my husband with them. I know his shoe size, but I also know that it changes depending on the type of shoe, so I read the description carefully and chose the best size based on their recommendations. And then I celebrated joyfully when the BRUNT Marin Boots broke my losing streak and I finally had a footwear win. You guys, for the first time in 30 years, I successfully bought him footwear that he swears is straight out of the box comfortable!

BRUNT pants and shorts
Next up in my Bundle Builder was choosing some pants or shorts for my husband. I knew I wanted a fabric that had some give and stretch to it, but I also wanted something with a reinforced knee since a lot of what he does requires kneeling or crawling. The BRUNT collection of work pants and work shorts definitely did not disappoint with so many options for different types of jobs.

I eventually narrowed it down to the Costello HD Tech Pant as it’s a thinner and more breathable work pant in a mini ripstop fabric. These will keep him cool and dry thanks to the DWR finish that helps shed water as well as having quick-drying fabric. I love that they added an extra layer of abrasion-resistant material and double-layer knees for more durability. The Costello has four-way stretch so it moves with you on the job, but it also retains its shape and has a reinforced belt line that allows you to hang your tools without losing shape.

The Costello also has pockets galore. It has front pockets with built-in reinforcements that can reliably store your knife and tools, a self-closing right leg pocket for easy access to the gear you use most, a zippered left leg pocket for small item you don’t want to misplace, as well as back pockets for holding a notepad, larger tools or a cell phone.

Since my husband is always carrying pounds of tools and EDC items, I love that the Costello pants hold their shape and still look professional even with all of his gear added in. There’s zero pocket sag, the waistband stays put, and the reinforced knees don’t look like he’s walking around wearing big knee pads. In fact, we both remarked that the Costello HD Tech Pant is the first work pants we’ve seen with a nice tailored look that would be perfect for jobsite as well as a dinner out afterwards.

BRUNT outerwear
Outwear isn’t part of the Bundle Builder, but I knew I wanted to get him a hoodie or long sleeve shirt to complete his BRUNT work wear. I quickly chose the Shevlin Hoodie as it’s a durable midweight hoodie that can go from jobsite to the soccer fields with ease. It is also water repellant with an industry-leading Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating that repels water, mud, and oil, which will be amazing for Washington winters and beyond.

Again, BRUNT nailed it with the innovative design that makes the Shevlin so much more than a traditional hoodie. To start with, the side pockets are big enough to warm your hands and stow your gear, but there is a hidden tech pocket on the right side to securely stash your cell phone. The Shevlin has a hard hat-compatible hood and button snaps at the neck to shield you from cold winds while eliminating the safety hazard of drawstrings that could catch in equipment.

With its year-round wearability and ability to shed water, I know the Shevlin is going to be one of my husband’s main to-go hoodie. I love that it can easily go from light DIYs around the house to more intense jobsites with ease, and will keep him safe in any working conditions.
