Thank you to ChefMaker for sending the Combi Fryer by DREO to be loved. No other compensation was received for this Rave Review.
We’ve had an airfryer for a few years now and cannot go back at this point. When someone asks me if they should buy one, my answer is always yes. But, the one thing that everyone is worried about is counter space. I’ve been waiting for an all-in-one unit to come along and wow me so I could recommend to anyone who is worried about space, and I finally found it.
Introducing the ChefMaker Combi Fryer by DREO
When my bright and shiny new ChefMaker Combi Fryer by DREO arrived this summer, I was already smitten. Sleek. Modern. Big basket. And, the best part? It has a window on the front so you can peek at your meal whenever you want my turning on the interior light. No more stopping the cooking process to peek, it literally was made for peeking.
With the ChefMaker Combi Fryer by DREO, you can choose between 3 customized cooking modes: Chef Mode, Classic Cook, and Probe Cook. Each cooking mode has multiple settings, with a whopping 44+ preset cooking programs available.
Yes, 44+ presets. That’s in addition to their manual settings, which you can fully control. Clearly, this is so much more than an airfryer. In fact, airfrying is one of the most basic things the Combi Fryer does. That doesn’t mean it’s not a good airfryer, in fact, it’s great. But, that’s not why it earns counter space.
It earns counter space because it can do *so much more* than airfry. But, the real question was whether it could replace a standard airfyer as well as do so much more. The answer in short: yes, it can.
The cooking magic of the ChefMaker Combi Fryer by DREO
Yes, magic. As in “automagically”. That’s really the best way to describe the cooking process in the Combi Fryer. That’s because the machine will not only tell you how to best cook your meal, but it will automatically go through multiple stages of cooking for the perfect cook, every time. They call it “ultimate control” because it really is.
With high tech features including a water atomization system, and a nifty food probe for accurate temperature control, it can give you a perfect meal, every single time. As it cooks, it can check the doneness of your meal with the duel high-precision probe and even adjust the cooking time accordingly. It also has a convection heating system that can heat foods super-fast, as well as heating it evenly.
DREO app for precise cooking
If you really want to fine-tune your cook, you will want to download the DREO app to utilize all the smart features of the Combi Fryer. Not only does it have all the cooking presets right there at your fingertips, the app can offer you new recipes as well as tips and tricks. From the app, you can store favorite recipes, get video-based tutorials for the perfect cook, and even monitor your cooking process in the ChefMaker Combi Fryer by DREO.
Just load your food in the cooking basket {with or without the cooking probe} and then scroll through the app and choose your preferred cooking method based on what you’re cooking. From there you can decide which of the three main cooking modes to use, and then get it ready to start. When you have your chosen preset, you simply hit start on the machine and then you sit back and wait for your meal to be done.
That’s right – No more stressing about your cooking process, you can check how much time is left in the app and see how your meal is coming along. You can even enable push notifications so you can get an alert when your meal is ready to enjoy. How cool is that?
Another thing I love is that the app lets you know when new recipes are added that you can explore. If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut dinner-wise, the DREO app is here to solve all your problems. Of course, you don’t *need* to utilize the app. But, I highly recommend that you do to get the most out of your DREO Combi Fryer.
Our favorite Combi Fryer cooks
The first thing we did was throw all the frozen foods at the Combi Fryer. Of course, they were amazing. But, we already knew they would be. We already established that it’s a great airfryer. Since potatoes=life, I wouldn’t settle for an airfryer that couldn’t create delectable potatoes, frozen or fresh.
We’ve done JoJos numerous times in our oven throughout the years and the results have always been one step above dismal. Since the airfryer’s most notable claim to fame is for potato products, I was hoping it would do better than my oven experience. Spoiler alert: it blew every oven-baked JoJo I’ve ever had out of the water.
Next on my list was quickly cooking chicken, which the ChefMaker Combi Fryer by DREO mastered with moist, fall-off-the-bone goodness. Thanks to the water atomizer and dual point sensing cooking probe, I could go about my day while the chicken cooked, completely hands-off. And the best part? It didn’t heat up the kitchen with this heat wave we’ve been experiencing.
In the past few weeks that we’ve been testing out the ChefMaker Combi Fryer by DREO, we’ve used it multiple times each week. Even though we were still learning for the first few cooks, the app and display screen made the process almost foolproof. Once we got brave enough to try the recipes and use the probe {I’m still not quite sure why this part scared me so much, but it did}, we were off and running making just about anything you can imagine in the Combi Fryer.
