Fun summertime play from NSI Toys

A big thank you to NSI Toys for making our summer so fun and educational. The kiddos loved the toys, and so do I!

The perfect summertime toys have a few things in common: they have learning opportunities and they can be played either alone or in pairs. Bonus points if the toy can also be played with outdoors. The new fun toys from NSI Toys have all of these things in common.

We got to review a selection of toys from NSI Toys, including some great educational toys from Smithsonian. My kids were so excited to get shipments of summertime toys, and they couldn’t wait to get to learning… I mean, playing.

All-Pro Passer Robotic Quarterback

The box claims it’s the most accurate quarterback on earth, and while I can neither confirm nor deny that, I can say that it is a *much better* quarterback than I am. You see, my poor son only has sisters, and then he has a very non-sportsy mom with him home all day. That leaves no one to play football with him, much to his dismay. I was so excited for the All-Pro Passer Robotic Quarterback because it means that he can play football all by himself, and it actually holds his attention for long periods of time.

Of course, when he has friends come over, then they can all play it as a group, which makes it even more fun. So much fun that the dads even get in on it and start playing football with the kiddos.

The football with the set is more of a dense foam than a traditional inflated ball, which I wasn’t sure he was going to like at first. It turns out, he saw it as another challenge since foam footballs don’t fly the same as official balls, so he enjoyed having the different ball to learn from.

One thing to note: this is not an indoor toy. This thing really flies, and you don’t want it flying in your house. This is made for large, open fields, kinda like football is. If you don’t have a large yard, take this to the school or park and your kid will immediately become the cool kid.

Groovy Glow Wubble

My kids have wanted a Wubble for years, but I was so worried that the neighborhood pup that used to sneak into our yard would pop it. We no longer have the pup to worry about, so it was definitely time to break out the Wubble and let them play.

They’ve had all sorts of balls in the past, but this is no ordinary ball. This flies through the air more like a bubble than a ball, wobbling, morphing and floating through the air. Its bubble properties make it utterly irresistible to kids, and every young one who has come over has been immediately drawn to our new glow-in-the-dark Wubble. They play catch with it, they make up a zillion games. But, most of all, they laugh themselves silly each time it comes out.

Glows in the dark – in colors! No two Groovy Glow Wubbles are exactly alike.

Enjoy lots of bouncy fun with this soft, squishy, bouncy tie-dye ball – indoors or out, all year round.

Groovy Glow Wubble is engineered to be gentle, molding around whatever it touches (foot or face), then bouncing away. Most kids giggle when it hits them.

Fun for the whole family.

Smithsonian Jurassic World Dominion Prehistoric Projector Science Kit

My kids have always been obsessed with dinosaurs. We’ve had just about every dino toy imaginable, but there’s one thing we never had: a prehistoric projector. So, we were thrilled to test out the Smithsonian Jurassic World Dominion Prehistoric Projector Science Kit this summer.

We loved that we could shine the projector right on my son’s wall {note: a white or tan wall works best, we realized that when we tried it in my daughter’s room}. It only took a little bit of tweaking and focusing the slide {it focuses like binoculars}, and the dino show was glowing right on his wall.

The best part was learning all the facts about each dino while snuggled up in bed, which I found out was a great way for them all to learn together. For some reason, they retain info so much better when there’s a visual component to it, so this was perfect for my little learners.

Smithsonian Prehistoric Sea Monsters Science Kit

When I was young, we used to hatch sea monkeys all the time. Then, when I was older, I found triops, and we hatched those as a family. I’ve been looking for something like that to do with my kiddos, and was so happy we found the Prehistoric Sea Monsters Kit at Target.

We just set up our tank and have the eggs in, and we cannot wait for them to hatch. Rumor has it that they grow to more than 20X their original size, which is super cool. But, I’m mostly excited about the science aspects and learning about these creatures that are 220-Million years old and seeing them come to life right before our eyes.
