PLAYMOBIL meets Scooby-Doo!

I’ve talked many times about how we’ve been PLAYMOBIL mega fans for more than two decades. We started collecting sets when my nieces and nephews were little, and throughout the years we became more than a little enamored with it. Our collection has grown from a handful of sets to a full PLAYMOBIL land with homes, a city, and the newer licensed sets from Back To The Future and now the newest collection: PLAYMOBIL Scooby-Doo!

I mean, how could we resist buying all the PLAYMOBIL Scooby-Doo? It’s such a staple of my husband’s and my childhoods, and of course we wanted to introduce it to our kids’ play as well. In fact, we went out and bought the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine the weekend it came out. A few weeks later my husband came home from a business trip with Playmobil Scooby-Doo! Mystery Ghost Packs for the kids, so our Scooby-Doo! collection was growing nicely.

Ready to play with Scooby-Doo

So, when PLAYMOBIL offered up their new Scooby-Doo! Adventure in Egypt {70365}, I was helpless to refuse. Like all PLAYMOBIL sets, there’s so much play value built in, and so many tiny details to swoon over. Of course, the set is fun to play with as is so you can reenact the show. Adding in the Mystery Machine and a few other “ghosts” from the blind mystery bags makes it even more fun. I hope to get the Scooby-Doo Mystery Mansion and graveyard down the road because it’s just so cool.

But, what I really love is that, like all PLAYMOBIL, you are only limited by your imagination. Even though the kids happily play with the set within the Scooby-Doo collection, the pieces can be reused in a variety of different play themes as well. The pharaohs’ tombs are the perfect addition to the PLAYMOBIL pyramids and the rest of the Egyptian line he loves so much.

PLAYMOBIL Scooby-Doo!

As a Scooby-Doo fan, the first thing I love about the new collection is that all the “ghost” figures are characters in disguise that can be unmasked, just like in the show {spoiler alert}. So, instead of making kids scared of ghosts and goblins, the crew always figures out that it is a misunderstood soul and it’s always solvable at the end.

I also love the collectable ghost cards that can slip into the reader in the Mystery Machine {or the Mystery Mansion} that illuminate. We have quite the collection of ghost cards from our mystery packs and the kids love illuminating them in the van.

PLAYMOBIL Scooby-Doo! Adventure in Egypt

The PLAYMOBIL Scooby-Doo! Adventure in Egypt is the perfect way to explore the ancient pharaohs’ tombs. The set comes with Scooby-Doo™, Shaggy™, Velma™ as Cleopatra and a pharaoh dressed in Egyptian clothing. Velma and the pharaoh are suited in mummy style costumes and both can be unmasked with changing faces.

My son loves that there are two lockable “secret” doors to hide ghosts and treasures of all kinds. The fact that it comes with a key was icing on the cake. I personally love that Scooby-Doo can grab and hold things in his mouth and that he comes with a stand that allows him to be posed up on his back legs.

Want to know how I encourage PLAYMOBIL play? I inspire their creativity by adding in arts and crafts items as well as PLAYMOBIL sets to help create their own PLAYMOBIL playscape that they can return to over and over again for creative and imaginative play.

Create your own and see how it enhances playtime in your house.

What will your children imagine and build with PLAYMOBIL?
