DIY decorative fauxglobe craft with Give Happy Cards

Happy Cards Happy GuyEvery year I try to stay on the ball and get all of my gifts done by December, but every single year I don’t remember until the very last minute that we need teacher’s and admin gifts, as well as those few impossible-to-buy-for family members. So, then I’m stuck stressing and running around that last week before Christmas, and now there’s holiday traffic.

I’ve always been a big fan of gift cards for last minute presents, but then there’s the issue of *what* gift card to give. Is the guy on your list more of a movie-type or a build-it-type? Is your favorite gal into spas or do they prefer to pamper themselves by shopping? So much for stress-free, right?

Well, this year a finally found the way to beat stress! This year, I found Happy Cards and I’m now one very happy lady. Happy Cards are the gift to give when you want to give choices. You can pick up a Happy Card for your recipient that pairs them with their favorite brands so they can choose where to spend it. No stress, no worrying. Just get happy. Make your recipient Happy with a fun DIY decorative fauxglobe

To make our Happy Cards even more fun to gift this year, I wanted to do something extra special for our recipients. Since I have a small obsession with miniatures, I decided to make some gift faux snowglobes {or fauxglobes, if you will} with some of our favorite mini items to place our Happy Cards inside.Happy Cards snowglobe with wreath

I love these fauxglobes because they are a super easy craft project that only takes a few minutes. But, I really adore that they are fun to gift because everyone is excited to get them. The bonus is that once the card is taken out to use, the globes can still be displayed year after year to add to the holiday cheer. I have to admit, they are cute enough to keep out all season.Happy Cards snowglobe with car

Happy Cards Snowglobes

To make your Happy Cards DIY decorative fauxglobe:

1. Take the lid off your glass jar, remove any labels, and clean.
2. Take the lid and set it on the counter with the seal facing up. Fill the lid with air dry clay to the top of the glass lip. Turn and press against the counter periodically to make sure clay is securely in the lid and doesn’t raise above the lip. Place gift card in the clay to create a slot to hold the card upright.
3. Next, pick out your miniatures and try setting them up until you get it just the way you want. Try placing the glass jar over the top to make sure it will fit inside comfortably. After you are in love, glue together miniatures however you like to secure.Happy Cards snowglobe with VW

  1. From the Happy Lady card, we would go to Cheesecake factory. They just opened their first location in my area, and we have been waiting for the crowd to die down before we go.

  2. I would like to get some winter snow boots from Lord & Taylor. It has nice options, and would be tempting to just splurge and eat out at Cheesecake Factory or a new fragrance at Sephora – oh so hard to choose, but I need the boots!

  3. With Happy Lady there are so many choices. The most practical one would be Bed Bath and Beyond since I want new sheets for 2 beds.
