When it comes to gifts for dad, you really can’t beat awesome tech accessories, and you can find all sorts of great tech gifts at AT&T. This June AT&T retail stores are offering a variety of gadgets under $100 that make great gift ideas for Father’s Day and Graduation that we adore, and I’m sure your dad or grad would as well.
One of our favorite items on the gift guide is the Braven BRV-1 speaker. We got one of these awesome Braven speakers from AT&T earlier this year and we absolutely adore it. It can go anywhere, do anything, and it sounds amazing. It’s rugged enough for camping and can even handle damp conditions. You can check out our full review here.
This spring we got to check out another cool little gadget from AT&T, and we are definitely smitten. Part camera, part action cam, the HTC RE camera is the perfect solution for any active dad. This little camera is roughly the size of an asthma inhaler, but don’t let it’s slight size mislead you – this is some pretty fancy schmancy tech that any father would love opening this Father’s Day. Featuring a 16MP sensor that captures HD videos, 146° wide angle lens, and easy connectivity with both iOS and Android phones, this is the perfect smartphone accessory that the whole family will love.
The waterproof and durable camera can even be used underwater, strapped to your sporting equipment, or simply in the palm of your hand to capture all those little memories forever. Because you can put this small camera anywhere and still capture beautiful images, it makes it easier to be in the moment and feel less like a camera man, which is one of my favorite things about this new action cam trend. Its one-button operation makes it easy to use – even for kids – and its 146° wide angle lens captures everything without needing to fumble with shooting settings on the fly. What makes the RE camera so amazing is that it isn’t your smartphone camera, but it still syncs with your phone. This makes it so much more inconspicuous than a big phone or tablet with its huge glowing screen, but it still allows the pictures and videos you take to be shared easily from your phone with loved ones or on social media channels. So now you can keep your phone in your pocket and still capture all those important moments like ballet recitals and first bike rides and then share them quickly and easily.
The HTC RE even allows for video streaming directly on YouTube from your RE or remotely from the RE App through the RE Live Stream feature. It’s the easiest way to share the action with family, friends and followers without needing to lug around a laptop.Working on its own Bluetooth enabled Wi-Fi signal that sends data right to your paired phone, you can upload pictures and videos from anywhere without having to wait until you get home. This makes it the perfect camera to capture and share memories on the go, and makes it easier than ever to upload gorgeous pictures from your daily adventures.
But the biggest perk of the RE is that it’s kid friendly. Most dads I know don’t love handing off their phones to their kids and worrying about what they might delete, move, or change to a foreign language, so I love that the RE is a completely separate unit. This means you can keep your phone safely put away while the kids play and still find photo and film gems on your phone from them after.
Pro tip: make it even more fun. We love when they play with the RE so much that we have even helped them develop games with it. We now play “Hide and RE Seek” by handing the kids the RE camera and having them send us picture clues about where they are like a scavenger hunt. Sometimes this is admittedly way too easy as there aren’t that many hiding spots in our home, but it can also be a ton of fun when the kids really plan out the clues.
Want to check out the rest of the gift guide for Dads and Grads? You can find out more about the Smartwatches on the list, including the LG G Watch R, the Samsung Gear Fit, and the Samsung Gear S. They also have premium audio options including the Braven BRV-1 {which is awesome}, the Boom Swimmer speakers, and the Moto Silver II headset. And, of course some cool tech gifts like the HTC RE camera we have been enjoying, Backbeat Fit headphones, and the iFrogz portable charger.
The HTC RE camera is available for $99 until June 25th while supplies last at AT&T retail stores. I recommend picking it up sooner rather than later so you have it all ready for gifting to your dads and grads!
A big thank you to AT&T for sending the HTC Re camera for review. As always, all opinions are 100% ours.
I want a smart watch so bad… maybe I’ll get one for hubby and I 🙂
