Philips Avent for peace of mind – from baby to toddler

Take lack of sleep for example.

It's a well known peril of parenthood that one must learn to function with significantly less sleep than the pre-baby days. In the early stages, I was up every 1-3 hours with my hungry newborns. But when my youngest started sleeping through the night, we got rid of our faulty baby monitor {that would randomly lose connection and cause me immense stress} and started leaving our bedroom door open to hear her.

And that's when I became a night time worrier. What if I didn't hear her all the way down the hall? What if I slept through her crying when she awoke sick, scared, or in need of a diaper change? I found myself getting up in the wee hours of the morning to check on her.

As you can imagine, it had been a long time since I had experienced a full night's rest. But, this all changed when we started using the Philips AVENT DECT audio baby monitor

There are so many unique aspects this monitor provides. For one, it enables parents to get rid of other devices by being several products rolled into one. I think the two-way communication is a genius option for children who only need to hear mommy or daddy's voice in order to be soothed back to sleep. 

Also, I love how long the charge lasts. This would be the perfect monitor to take along if you're ever out camping or on vacation and away from convenient outlets. It boasts a huge lifespan of up to 18 hours before re-charging is required, which is almost double what other monitors we've tried have offered.

And my baby loves that it plays music and doubles as a night light. You can select one of 5 lullabies and switch on the night light for them at bedtime, helping your baby learn to soothe themselves to sleep and make nighttime a little easier on everyone. But my absolute favorite feature is the temperature sensor! You can enter in the heat range you want your baby's room to stay within and it alerts you when it drops or rises above your settings. Brilliant! It helps me know if it's the kind of night that requires a heater or a fan, and I can rest well knowing my baby is comfortable.

While getting more restful sleep is definitely an amazing thing, there's one more Philips AVENT item that makes me incredibly happy. Introducing the Natural Drinking Cup from AVENT, the no-spill cup that actually helps teach your child how to drink from a regular cup! They say the tiny things make the biggest difference and there was always one tiny detail I detested most about toddlerhood: the dreaded sippy cup. They have a million parts, they leak, and worst yet, they actually make it harder to teach your child how to drink from a cup when you're ready to transition.

But, Philips AVENT solved all of those problems and more with the introduction of the Natural Drinking Cup. Why am I so excited about a sippy cup, you ask? Because it allows you to drink from anywhere around the rim of the cup, just like a traditional glass, but it only releases liquid if it has pressure on the inner core of the lid. Crazy, but true!

That means it won't spill if tipped on the white living room couch, but it makes it easy for your kiddo to drink like a big kid. Okay, so I don't really have a white living room couch, but I still don't want to sit in a puddle of spilled juice, milk, or water.To take it with you, you simply slip on the protective cover and you're ready to go. Seriously, I wish that they had these toddler cups in grown up sizes without the handles, because this would be an amazing car cup not just for my big kids but also for hubby and I on road trips.
