World Vision: give back while giving this holiday season {Prosperity Cinnamon Box}

Sponsored post basic disclosure
World Vision in mall
The above display for World Vision was found at Northgate mall, nestled in between clothing and shoe stores. Every time we passed it this season we would stop, take pictures with the goats, and I would talk to the kids about what we can do this holiday season to give back.

We all love to buy something for someone to open for the holidays, even if it seems like the recipient has everything. So, why not give them a gift that will make you both feel good? Something from World Vision is always the perfect present because it truly is more than a present – it’s a way to give back with each gift given.

I’ve talked before about how much I love World Vision for what a worthy cause they support, and how it’s one of my favorite go-to places for those that are impossible to buy for. With an option to do a donation in anyone’s name or to get a small gift with a donation, it’s perfect for bosses, co-workers, relatives, friends, acquaintances, and those that live near or far.

World Vision holiday gift guide

The World Vision Gift Catalog offers more than 250 items, which includes 30+ handcrafted gifts that can be shared with a loved one and at the same time help a person in need. Here's just a small sample of the items they are offering this year:

Colors of Africa Bracelet & Earring Set: gorgeous Zakale jewelry set handmade from recycled materials by Kenyan artisans reclaiming their own lives from poverty.

Hand-woven Headband: beautiful 100% cotton headband woven by skilled workers in Lake Atitlan in Guatemala helps address urgent needs of children, families or communities that might otherwise go unmet.

Ornament Set: set includes three handmade Zakale wire and bead animal trio ornaments from Nairobi.

Gertie the Plush Goat: Gertie is available exclusively through World Vision and represents farm animals that are donated to children and families around the world and provide a steady supply of nutritious food and the surplus can be sold for extra income.

We got to see the Prosperity Cinnamon Box that is made from the dried inner bark of Cassia {cinnamon} trees this year. This small 3”x3” box is created by artisans in Vietnam where cinnamon trees are a renewable resource. Cinnamon Box from Vietnam

The carved Cinnamon Box with prosperity symbol is gorgeous on its own, but when filled with Vietnam’s renowned sweet cinnamon, it becomes functional as well and would delight any baker. Who wouldn’t want to throw this into a holiday recipe?

But, in addition to being a great gift, purchasing the Cinnamon Box from World Vision for a lucky recipient this holiday season allows you to help families receive social and health insurance as well as the opportunity to apply for scholarship funds. The box arrives with a note explaining all about the cinnamon box as well as how you are giving back. And, did I mention it smells delicious?
