Awesome Christmas present ideas from Daisy

Sure, we also do presents, but it's not as much about the morning of opening gifts as it is about all the fun we experience as a family each holiday season. This year, as part of our Christmas fun we have included the Daisy BB gun that every kid grew up wishing for under the tree. Besides having awesome Christmas present ideas for teenagers, gifting a Daisy just like dad and papa have is great for bonding well after the presents are open.

The teenage years might be more difficult in terms of bonding opportunities, but throughout the years we've found Daisy BB guns to be an amazing way to reconnect as a family. From target shooting with dad, skills courses with papa, and safety lessons with mom to days spent setting up BB gun ranges and target shooting practice with cousins, Daisy has given us numerous ways to connect and have fun as a family.

This year it was time to pass that love down to the next generation by including my nieces and nephews, so I've been looking for the perfect grow-with-me BB gun to surprise them with for the holidays. I found the perfect one with the Model 880 PowerLine Air Rifle with Scope from Daisy that is recommended for ages 13+. We were so excited about picking one up for the holidays that we planned a whole day of shopping to celebrate. With a visit to the Red Ryder booth at Santa's Wonderland at Bass Pro Shops, a fun day of playing with all the fun hands-on activities planned for kids for the holidays, a visit from the jolly guy himself, and even a special dinner at Uncle Buck's restaurant, it was the perfect way to ring in the holiday season. But, shopping for the Daisy BB gun at Bass Pro Shops was even more fun than all the Santa's Wonderland festivities. On our way around the store to see the huge aquarium and mural, we were greeted by a huge display that showed their classic Red Ryder BB guns on special as well as an endcap of the Model 880 kit we had come for. In case you happened to miss the display for the holidays, you can still find all the Daisy products in the air rifle section as normal. As well as the Model 880 PowerLine, classic Red Ryder BB guns, and the gorgeous 75th anniversary edition, we also found a huge selection of Daisy gear and accessories in the same aisle and I quickly filled my cart. You can also hold any of the air rifles in the store to really get a feel for them and see which is the most comfortable in your hands. As you can see, I've got a little one who cannot wait until he's over the age of 10 and can handle a Daisy with our supervision. Only 6 more years, little buddy. As soon as I saw the Model 880 PowerLine out of the package, I knew it was perfect. It’s clear as soon as you hold it that it is a great quality BB gun and not a flimsy toy. Not only does it have a really classic rifle look to it, it also has some really cool features like the Monte Carlo stock and the textured grip and forend. I personally love the Model 880 kit that includes a 4×15 scope that makes it even more fun to compete in a family-run target practice showdown. Complete with safety goggles and even some starter ammo, you're truly ready to go right out of the box.
Pump it a few times for less powerful shooting or up to 10 pumps for full velocity, you can tailor the power of the gun to your shooting needs. Not too childish and not too powerful, it’s the perfect gun to learn about gun safety and proper handling while still enjoying some grown up features, which is exactly what I was looking for. Because obviously, as a mom and an aunt, safety is my #1 concern. We have fun making our own targets for safety, we always wear goggles and bright colors when we're anywhere we might blend in, and we lock up our BB guns when they aren't being used as a family. But, that doesn't mean Daisy isn't about fun – when we bring them out the focus is always bonding and family time while being safe. Daisy understan

Most of the safety rules of BB guns are pretty basic – no pointing the muzzle at anyone, ever, and treat every gun like it is loaded, etc. but it's good to go over them each time for younger family members who recently graduated into the double digits and can now join our BB gun fun.

In addition to sharing gun safety rules since 1948, Daisy also has created awesome portable, inflatable BB gun ranges that can be found at major outdoor sporting goods retailers. The majority of those who attend the an outdoor or store event and shoot at the ranges are first-time shooters, so I love that they teach gun safety and marksmanship skills.
