BrainTap Headset for brain fitness

A big thank you to BrainTap for sending their BrainTap Headset for brain fitness for us to review and to love. All opinions are 100% ours, but some scientific data is taken from BrainTap’s extensive research.

BrainTap Headset for brain fitness

These past few years have brought health and fitness into focus in a big way. We all know that diet, exercise, and sleep are important, but what if there was something just as important for mental and physical health? Introducing BrainTap, for brain fitness.

Stay with me here, the payoff is huge. What if a wellness gadget could strengthen and train your brain for more energy, improved focus, better sleep, easier meditation, and a lot less stress?

This year, I decided to take meditation seriously and I tried a bunch of meditation apps trying to find one that fit my needs. I was beginning to think meditation wasn’t for me and then I found BrainTap. I realized that my problem was that I had just needed to find the right one. BrainTap’s neuro-algorithm produces brainwave entrainment — the synchronization of brainwaves to a specialized sound — with no user effort. The result is full-spectrum brainwave activity, even for someone like me that is just starting out.

Introducing the BrainTap Headset for brain fitness

I was already hooked on the BrainTap guided meditations and visualizations and then I received the BrainTap Headset, and it was like it was all new again. BrainTap sessions can be accessed with any headphones, but the experience is enhanced by using BrainTap’s proprietary headset which engages full-spectrum brainwave activity and brings a whole new dimension to meditating.

They call them braintapping sessions, and they work by adding the restorative power of light frequency therapy. The BrainTap Headset delivers gentle light pulses that travel through the ear meridians and the retina, sending direct signals to the brain. These lights synchronize with two types of sound—binaural beats and isochronic tones—to produce deep and profound relaxation and varying states of consciousness. These then guide you into deeper brain states that would otherwise take years of disciplined effort to achieve.

The goal is that through listening to the varied frequencies and holographic music in BrainTap’s audio programs, you can reboot your brain to a healthy, balanced state of relaxation and revitalization. I’ll admit I’m new to this all – not just the idea of light therapy, but also meditations themselves. But, what I’ve experienced in the past few weeks using the BrainTap headset with the app and the guided visualizations has been amazing.

BrainTap helps you shift your mind from sleepy to awake, anxious to relaxed, exhausted to energized, distracted to focused. Not only have I noticed a huge difference in the way I feel, the way I respond to stress, and my energy levels, my sleep has noticeably improved as well.

Better sleep with BrainTap

Not only have I noticed a difference in every day since I started the Braintapping sessions, but my sleep is also remarkably better. I’ve been tracking my sleep for over a year now with the TempurPedic Sleeptracker that I reviewed last year. And, ever since I started the BrainTap sessions, my deep sleep REM has almost doubled each night. My breathing is deeper, my heart rate more steady, and my overall sleep health is improving day by day.

Admittedly, I was sleeping terribly before I received the headset, but the change happened almost immediately. It was a little deeper sleep each night, even when I was so busy that I was barely getting 3 or 4 hours a night. It turns out that the deep sleep really does matter and you can hold it together for much longer if your short bursts of sleep are at least deep. Who knew?

More benefits of the BrainTap headset

The benefits of the BrainTap headset can be virtually limitless.

  1. Deep relaxation stimulates the production of natural, stress and tension-relieving neurotransmitters, such as endorphins.
  2. Helps change unwanted behaviors and habits, including those contributing to smoking and over-eating.
  3. Balances the brain’s right and left hemispheres, inspiring both focus and creativity.
  4. Promotes relaxation, which contributes to maintaining healthy sleep.
  5. Brings more blood flow to the brain for clearer thinking and better concentration.
  6. Alleviates negative mind chatter and enhances motivation and performance.
  7. Decreases or eliminates jet lag.
  8. And last, but certainly not least, provides a natural ability to put stress in its place.

Hundreds of Braintapping sessions to choose from

I love being able to pick from a huge list of wellness tracts on the BrainTap app. With nearly 700 sessions in more than 50 categories, there are dozens {and dozens} of sessions for each category so you can really delve into whatever you are currently working on. I haven’t even made it through one full wellness tract yet, and I’ve been listening to one or two every single day since the beginning of November.

Check out the BrainTap app and download it first to try the first few trial sessions with the free version of the app. And then if you love it as much as I do, you can upgrade to the paid version. You can purchase individual wellness tracts for $9.99/mo or purchase their bundle for $29.99 that includes 6 different wellness topics. Then, you may purchase the headset and take your meditations and visualizations so much further than you can with just the audio and utilize all the Pro User content that I adore so much.

In terms of a wellness gift, this is the pinnacle present. It’s a quick and easy way to relax, reboot and revitalize by simply optimizing your brain’s peak potential—anytime, anywhere. I can’t think of anything else in the health and wellness category that offers these types of benefits for the mind itself. It’s an almost addictive high that you have coming off a session, and you can feel the positive effects almost immediately.

  1. As of yesterday Brain Tap has obsoleted its app. I purchased an annual subscription less than a month ago and now they want me to sign up for a different app. Buyer Beware!

    • John, they have a new app. You should have an invite in your inbox (check spam and junk) inviting you to the new app. Just download that and you’re good to go

  2. I agree. For $180 a year plus the cost of the headset, there should be some sort of free trial good for a week or so, and some explanation of what is an adequate headset with which to
    try out the program.
