Grow your garden with the Hunter BTT Bluetooth tap timer

A big thank you to Sprinkler Supply Store for sending the Hunter BTT Bluetooth tap timer for review. Our garden is now taking care of itself, automagically.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, our summers are hot and dry. Never mind all the movies and videos you’ve seen where it rains all year long in Seattle, we actually have beautiful {and sometimes *too* hot of summers}. So, yeah, it rains a lot in winter and spring, but summer tends to kill our entire landscape with heat and lack of water.

Part of the problem is that since we don’t have to water our outdoor plants over half of the year, we sometimes forget to water them come summertime. Elaborate in-ground sprinklers aren’t the norm here, so we tend to wait until it gets hot and dry before we even think about watering regularly.

To make things worse, at our house we now have artificial turf instead of natural lawn, and apparently that makes me even more forgetful about watering than I used to be. I can’t tell you how many plants I’ve accidentally killed simply by forgetting to water, but I will tell you that this number easily doubled in the past year since our turf was installed. Thankfully, the Hunter BTT 100 Bluetooth tap timer controller NPT from Sprinkler Supply Store is here to change all of that.

We’ve had other watering timers in the past, which are mostly fine if you want something to set and forget.… that is, until it starts to rain and you see your timer click on and the sprinkler start. And then you realize you’re watering your lawn while it dumps. But, now it’s raining and no one wants to run outside to reset the timer. So, what’s a girl to do? She should probably get the Hunter BTT with an easy-to-use app that you can either program or use on manual mode, all without running outdoors and getting soaked.

Why go with the Hunter BTT Bluetooth tap timer?

The Hunter BTT Bluetooth tap timer is so much smarter than all those other timers. The BTT is a Bluetooth®-enabled, battery-operated tap timer that is the wireless solution you’ve been looking for. It is controlled via an iOS or Android app that you can access on smartphone which allows you to program your watering using three methods: timer, cycling, and manual.

Timer mode allows for watering at four different start times from 1 second to 6 hours, per watering day. Cycling mode allows the run time to repeat continually after the scheduled interval {soak time} from a start time to an end time. For manual watering, simply press the play button on the schedule. You can enter a runtime up to 360 minutes and press run.

This adaptability makes the BTT the perfect indoor and outdoor wireless solution for gardens, greenhouses, terraces, potted plants, flower beds, nurseries, and small lawn areas located in spaces without available in-ground irrigation.

As I said before, most of our yard is artificial turf now, but if anything, my number of growing boxes and veggies we planted has grown dramatically. Eventually, we will have an elaborate drip system we design from the Sprinkler Supply Store website that will be connected to the Hunter BTT Bluetooth tap timer. This will be installed along the fence line and then have a line go into each hanging basket, veggie bed, or pot. The BTT will then be scheduled to turn off and on at a specified schedule, while also being able to start and stop it manually if we wish.

About Sprinkler Supply Store

Sprinkler Supply Store says they’ve been fighting lame customer service since 2011, existing solely to give you a better, easier way to get the sprinkler system and landscaping parts you need. Other traditional distributors in the sprinkler industry are literally known for their terrible customer service, shipping items slow, not responding to emails, or returning calls.

But not Sprinkler Supply Store. Their commitment to customer service has made them the leading direct-to-consumer wholesaler of sprinkler parts. They now stock more than 7,000 parts in their warehouses and can even special order parts for you. After placing my first order this month, I was blown away by the communications letting me know every step of the way where my Hunter BTT Bluetooth tap timer was.

  1. I have found these irrigation controllers to be well designed and the app operation is logical.
Unfortunately they fail much earlier than expected. I have had half of my controllers fail between one and two years old.
