During our epic Montana adventure this summer, we spent a few days exploring all that Whitefish Mountain had to offer at Whitefish Mountain Resort. My niece and sister joined us and it made for an awesome family-fun adventure that we all can’t stop talking about.From gorgeous scenery and slow-paced sightseeing all the way to heart-racing action for thrill seekers, Whitefish Mountain Resort has it all, and it’s all so conveniently located and accessible that you can fit in loads of adventure in each day. Here’s our picks for family summer fun at Whitefish Mountain Resort:

1. Aerial Adventure Park

After a little bit of training, your family will be crossing cable bridges, climbing rope ladders, hopping on zip lines, and navigating obstacles high up in the air at the Aerial Adventure Park. With numerous courses from beginner on up to advanced, you can challenge yourself and defy gravity on this self-guided adventure.

2. Alpine Slide

Ride up the chair lift and grab an Alpine Slide sled before tearing down the mountain as fast as you desire in an Alpine luge that is fun for little kids on up to adult.

3. Spider Monkey Mountain

Spider Monkey Mountain is a small climbing structure specifically for kids ages 4 and over. Kids can climb up the various layers of webbing to the top of the Spider Monkey Mountain and slide down the inflatable slide to the bottom over and over again, wearing themselves out and staying busy while waiting for other members of your party to experience their adventure picks.

4. Strider Bike Park

Have a little one ages 2-6? If so, they will love tearing up the Strider Bike bike on pedal-less bikes. Little ones will race around the course while practicing balancing and honing their riding skills on a Strider balance bike. Strider Bike Park is located next to the Base Lodge patio, just steps away from delicious coffee and treats at the Base Lodge cafe.

5. Take a hike

Take a hike in some of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine. With trails spreading out in just about every direction, there is never a shortage of paths to take and sights to see.

6. Scenic Lift Rides

After leaving Base Camp, you will hop onto the free chair lift and ride it up to the top of the hill. From there, you can ride Chair 1 up all the way to the summit of the mountain for spectacular views of the Flathead Valley, Glacier National Park, and the Canadian Rockies. You will see mountain bikers and adventurers navigating the mountain below as you soar above them to the summit. Stop in at Summit Lodge and enjoy their gift shop, a bite to eat, and then visit the Summit Nature Center.

7. Become a Junior Ranger

Visit the Summit Nature Center and have your kids become Junior Rangers. Grab a bite to eat at the Summit House Grill and enjoy the scenery while you learn about the forest around you.

8. Mountain Biking

Rent or bring your own mountain bike for the ultimate biking adventure. With crisscrossing trails down the mountain, there is much to explore for experienced riders.

9. Summer Tubing

Ride the Big Easy Carpet to the top of the hill and then hop in a tube and slide down the hill while bouncing and spinning over bumps and rolls to the bottom. Fun for the whole family steps away from the Base Lodge.

10. Zip Line Tours

Have a blast on Montana’s longest Zip Line Tour at Whitefish Mountain Resort. We unfortunately didn’t get a chance to zip line during this Montana trip, but we’re definitely planning on returning because I hear their zip tour is outstanding.

11. Enjoy the wildlife

There are hundreds of deer,  gophers, birds, and more on the mountain and surrounding areas. Our kids were absolutely smitten when a deer decided to hang out with us just a few feet away from our rental.

12. Explore the town of Whitefish

Called the gateway to Glacier, Whitefish is an adorable little town that is nestled by mountains at the bottom of Whitefish Mountain Resort. Here’s just a taste of our summer fun at Whitefish Mountain Resort this June.
