Sick Just Got Real: How do you handle summer germs?

This post has been sponsored by Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Friends on slideI have kids, which means it’s a constant struggle to balance the sometimes not-so-clean activities of young kids without becoming the anti-bacterial gel wielding mom. This year has been especially bad and while I’m tempted to sanitize every surface they *might* touch, I also want my kids to be able to just be kids, too. I want to make sure they can see and play with their friends and not miss out on crucial lessons, and I definitely don’t want them missing out on summer fun due to illness. Blueberry pickingTo combat illness, we implement these basic rules for keeping healthy:

1)    Wash hands frequently, and make sure kids know how to wash properly.
2)    Staying home when we’re sick – no need to send the illness around the playground, library, or playdate.
3)    Keep a healthy routine. With healthy amounts of activity, good diets, and plenty of sleep, we manage to avoid quite a few illnesses a year.

But, if the worst does happen and the kids do come down with whatever sickness is going around? Pfizer Consumer Healthcare has three solutions when sick gets real: Children’s Advil®, Children’s Robitussin® and Children’s Dimetapp®. Pfizer productsChildren’s Advil® eases those aches and pains, while reducing a child’s fever fast for kids as young as 2 and up to 11. Children’s Advil® comes in several great-tasting flavors, including: Sugar-free Dye-free Berry, Bubble Gum, Grape, Blue Raspberry, Fruit and Dye-Free White Grape flavors. There’s also Infants’ Advil® White Grape, which provides fever relief with a syringe for easy dosing for children 6-23 months.*

Children’s Robitussin® Extended-Release 12 Hour Cough Relief to control and relieve symptoms all-day or all-night. Available in grape or orange flavor, for children ages 4 and up {some Children’s Robitussin® products are only suitable for children ages 6 and up}.*

Children’s Dimetapp® Multi-Symptom Cold Relief Dye-Free eases your child’s stuffy and runny nose, while quieting a bothersome cough. All in a great-tasting grape flavor that’s dye-free, for children ages 6 and up.*Pfizer AdvilOur bottle of Children’s Advil® arrived just in time as my littlest was battling a fever that came on suddenly and seemed to have no real cause. She was thrilled to have graduated to Children’s products instead of the Infants’ and be able to drink her medicine out of cup instead of a syringe. It may be a little thing, but seeing her this happy to take medicine makes my day so much better, and it adds a little joy to dealing with sickness. Pfizer all done with medicineThen, we used the other products to restock our medicine cabinet from last year and have on hand for the older two for back to school. Hopefully this illness passes quickly and leaves the rest of us untouched, but if the little one ends up sharing, at least we’ve got what we need. Pfizer sick just gpt real 2 Nothing is sadder than watching your kids struggle with an illness, and I love that I can plan ahead and keep what we need in stock to make kids feel better and get back to being the fun and crazy kids that they are and not miss out on family fun.
