She finds a way to use it in other recipes, of course.

Ready to make your own no-churn ice cream?

You just need two ingredients – seriously! With just two cups heavy cream and one 14oz can of sweetened condensed milk you can make truly amazing ice cream, no mix ins required.Eagle Brand Sweet Condensed MilkReady to get creative? Here's some optional mix-in items: vanilla extract, fruits, nuts, leftover candy, chocolate chips, caramel or chocolate syrup

You start by whipping the heavy cream in a stand mixer or by hand. You will be mixing it for quite some time, so an electric option will definitely be preferred.

If you would like to add in some vanilla extract, mix two tablespoons into the condensed milk now while the heavy cream is being whipped.

The cream is done whipping when soft-medium peaks form. The first time I made homemade ice cream without a machine I didn’t whip the cream long enough. It was still good, but it had more of an icy texture than a creamy texture. The whipped cream should have a thick, custard-like consistency when it is ready.

After the whipped cream is ready, you simply fold in the sweetened condensed milk mixture slowly and gently to keep the mixture light and fluffy. Fold until it is well combined and then add in chopped candy bars, nuts, or other mix-ins. Pour into a freezer-safe container {we use Tovolo ice cream containers because they work perfectly in our fridge, but you can even use loaf pans or Tupperware} and place in freezer for at least 6 hours, or until firm.

Enjoy! Homemade Ice Cream

  1. This is so amazing and very few ingredients. My granddaughter has wanted to make ice cream for the longest time and now we can do this without an ice cream maker.
