Before I was a parent, I didn’t know how much difference a good night’s sleep really makes. Even though my kids {for the most part} sleep through the night and even allow me to sleep later than them some days, I have a horrible habit of staying up too late and then waking up too early. To add to the problem, I’ve also found that I seriously dislike all of the pillows I’ve bought in the past few years and seem to go through pillows like most people do groceries trying to find one that won’t keep me up at night tossing and turning.

Thank goodness for a chance encounter with Naturepedic at Gearapalooza Seattle because I finally got to talk to a pillow expert who was able to identify my problem and help me find something he thought might work for me. After I heard about the Naturepedic Trio Organic Pillow System, I was giddy with excitement upon leaving the event and couldn’t wait to try it out. I was thrilled when I received one for review a few weeks later to help with getting a good night’s sleep during our hectic summer schedule.So, that’s what makes Naturepedic amazing, but what makes the Trio pillow so awesome? For one, it is customizable. Yes, that’s right. Now I can be Goldilocks as much as I want because I can change this one pillow to suit my different sleeping moods whenever I want. If I want a thicker pillow for propping up and watching TV, I can utilize the pillow and the quilted cover together to give me a firmer and rounder pillow. This is the configuration I use when I’m working or reading in bed and just want a more substantial pillow behind me. With two extra layers of organic cotton, PLA filling, and an inner quilting to reduce shifting of fiber, the quilted cover with the inner pillow provides good, firm support that is still comfortable and allows for machine washing. Then for the times I need to sleep on my side, the pillow can be squished down by manipulating the inner core to the perfect height for me to side sleep.But, most of the time, I use it for stomach sleeping, and for those times I love that the quilted cover simply slides right off. With the Trio cover off, I can use the inner pillow on its own with its included organic sateen pillow case. Because the internal organic shredded latex pieces are so malleable and can even be removed by unzipping case, I can create a custom size pillow and can even contour it perfectly to fit me. So far I’ve been using the Naturepedic Trio pillow for a little over 3 weeks now and I love it more and more each day. Because I can change it up however I like to custom suit my sleeping mood, it has made the old pile of pillows I used to store in my room unnecessary. Now I can change the configuration however often I like, and worst case scenario I only have to store the quilted cover when it’s not in use, which makes me very happy.

But, what makes me even happier is that I don’t toss and turn anymore trying to get comfortable all night long. I wake feeling actually refreshed {most mornings, at least}, and I look forward to going to be each night.
