Last week, we had date night. We started the evening with Washington wines and microbrews paired with delicious bites from Seattle’s top chefs, and then we topped off the night with coffee and sweet potato cheesecake. 
It was pretty much the perfect evening, and it was for a good cause.

We were guests of AT&T at the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction, where they were a gold level sponsor. The Signature Chefs Auction brings together prominent members of the community to raise paddles for stronger, healthier babies and proceeds from the event are directed to mission-based programs.
But, AT&T wasn’t just donating to the cause, they were also lending their technological expertise toward the Auction’s first MOD Chef Awards. While we walked around and dined on delicious fare, we were also encouraged to vote for our favorite chef by text message.
I thought this was a really cool addition to a charity dinner as it gave a great conversation starter as we were mingling and eating, as well as a fun way to make the dinner interactive. At the end of the evening, the winner, Brandon LaVielle from Emerald Cove Catering Company was revealed. He was given a trophy to display proudly in his restaurant, publicizing the Signature Chef’s Auction and prompting conversations about the cause of the March of Dimes.

Towards the end of the evening we had the opportunity to buy desserts for our tables and AT&T surprised us with purchasing a Sweet Potato Cheesecake that was to die for. I only wish I knew who had made it so I could properly thank them. It was that good.
