I was looking through some pictures today and I started to get teary thinking of how OLD my babies are getting. It seems impossible that I have a seven year old {and a four year old, and a newborn} as I swear it feels like only yesterday that I was bringing them home from the hospital.
But yet sometimes I look at my husband and I can't believe we've only had 7 amazing years together as parents.
Our oldest arrived just a week before Father's Day in 2008, and I will always remember just how magical that day was. We went out for sushi as a family, did a little shopping, and then we headed into downtown Edmonds to just walk around before heading over to celebrate with the in-laws.
Let me tell you, a new mom, a teeny tiny baby, and an elated new dad are welcomed like celebrities everywhere on Father's Day. I lost count of just how many people stopped us and wished my husband a happy Father's Day and I'm fairly certain that the smile never left hubby's face for a minute. Even strangers saw what I saw: my husband was truly meant to be a dad. Nothing brings him greater joy than these three little humans we've created together, and it's clear they are crazy about him.
He is their biggest fan, their partner in crime, and their hero. If you don't believe me, you should stop by my house sometime in the evening to see what kind of excitement greets his arrival home from work each night. To them, every day is Father's Day. So, to my amazing husband and to all you dads out there, I wish you a wonderful day of laughter, love, and celebrating that is just as perfect as that first one hubby and I celebrated 7 years ago.
Happy Father's Day from Rave & Review!
Happy fathers day to you and yours.
Happy father’s day to you too! We looked at our pictures when the kids were a new born too. I can’t believe how much they grow.
