A big thank you to Nintendo for showing us a preview of the ACNH 3.0 Update and Switch 2 Edition and a big huge thank you to SanDisk for sending the coolest microSD card ever that inspired the Animal Crossing Gift Guide. We love both the free and paid new content and cannot wait to dive in further. #sponsored
If you are an Animal Crossing fan, or if you know someone who is, you’re going to want to check out this post. I’m sharing information on the new Switch 2 Animal Crossing game as well as the ACNH 3.0 update and some products any Animal Crossing fan would love.
I love Animal Crossing, and I have for well over a decade through various Nintendo devices. When I found Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the Switch, I was obsessed. I played it constantly, harvesting this and that, visiting random islands, and building up my island to the 5-star rating. And, even after that I played pretty frequently, trying to create every flower hybrid and find every creature. But, then it got to the place that I didn’t really have much to do on my island, so I’d visit my kiddo’s island and bring them items and trade {we have two Switches and therefore, two islands}. But, for most of last year my island has been covered in weeds with cockroaches running around. Oh, and did I mention all the flowers that were threatening to take over large parts of my island?

When Nintendo announced that they were planning to release a huge Animal Crossing update when the new Switch 2 game came out, I was so incredibly excited. I needed something fresh to look forward to, something to get me excited about my island again. This new 3.0 update is all that and more.
ACNH Switch 2 Edition
Now you can create your island paradise in 4K with Animal Crossing: New Horizons which is upgraded for Nintendo Switch 2. Of course, there’s the enhanced 4K resolution, which is nice. But what I really like are the mouse controls with the right Joy-Con 2 controller that makes decorating and designing even easier and more precise.

Also new is an in-game megaphone for calling your animal residents, which I don’t find super helpful but I don’t interact with my residents nearly as much as everyone else seems to? I have my favorites, of course, but the rest just kind of get in my way when I’m working and sometimes shout at me. Don’t come for me.
All that being said, I do like my real friends, and I like to bring them to my island. So, I love that if you and your friends all have the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, you can share your island in 12-player sessions online which includes CameraPlay and GameChat support so you can see and hear their reactions in real time. So much better than chatting over Zoom while we explore each other’s islands or planning IRL gatherings just to play on each other’s islands.

Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing 3.0 Update
A free update is also available for both versions of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, featuring a new resort hotel, a convenient Reset Service with Resetti to help tidy up your island for his day rate of 60,000 bells, a way for Nintendo Switch Online members to collaboratively design and build with friends on Slumber Island, and more.
The Resort Hotel will be available if you’ve made it past the K.K. credits and it will be located at the end of the newly extended pier. The Resort Hotel is run by Kapp’n’s family who have upgraded from the Tortimer Island in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. You will help Kapp’n decorate the hotel rooms with various themes, similar to DLC.
If you plan on clearing a lot, you will love the new storage upgrade your home storage that can now hold a maximum of 9,000 items, up from 5,000 total before. You can also include shrubs, trees, and flowers in your storage.

If you’ve played a bit of the version 3.0 or read over the patch notes, you may have discovered some unannounced features hiding in ACNH like: Crafting and cooking now pull from your home storage even if you are out exploring the island. Pressing L allows your character to hop to exactly one space forward, backward and side to side. Hold L and move your character and they will slide exactly one space in the selected direction. Pocket Camp items are now available for anyone in the Promotion section of the Nook Shopping terminal or app.
Both the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and the free update are available as of Jan. 15.
SanDisk 512GB MicroSD Nintendo Switch Micro SDXC Memory Card {for Switch & Switch Lite}
Okay, so you don’t *need* specific Animal Crossing themed microSD cards, but you might actually need more space and you might as well have fun with what could be an otherwise ho-hum purchase. That’s where the Animal Crossing SanDisk microSD card comes in.
SanDisk Nintendo MicroSD cards are officially licensed for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite systems and help you get more space so you can play to your heart’s content.

I can hear some of you thinking: isn’t any Micro SD card as good as the next? You’d be forgiven for thinking that, but you’d be wrong. Trust me. Try and use a cheap SD card and you will clearly see that it’s the speed that will get you. When you’re talking gaming you need fast speeds, and SanDisk delivers. With up to 100mb/s read speeds and 90mb/s write speed, the Nintendo Micro SD is Speed Class 10 for Full HD and 4K video recording and playback with compatible devices

Now you can store your downloaded games, screenshots, and video captures easily so you can travel light… I mean LITE.
Animal Crossing LEGO
Okay, so no one actually *needs* this, but I think any Animal Crossing fan would definitely think this was pretty cool. You can find lots of Animal Crossing LEGO sets on Amazon, but I liked this one the most. I mean, who doesn’t love shopping at Nook’s Cranny?

Another favorite is the Blather’s Museum LEGO set. I think it would be really cool if you want to collect more specimens to display in front of the museum.

Animal Crossing puzzle for screen-free fun
Looking for even more Animal Crossing fun that doesn’t involve screens? Ravensburger makes this adorable 1000-piece puzzle that is great for adults and children. If you’re not familiar with Ravensburger as a brand, this might look like any old puzzle. But, there’s a reason it’s the bestselling puzzle brand worldwide with over 1 billion puzzles sold.
The Animal Crossing puzzle is made from premium quality materials and extra-thick cardboard combined with a linen structured paper for a glare-free finish {this is the important part, trust me}. The puzzle measures 70 x 50cm when complete

Animal Crossing Museum shirt
I love fandom shirts designs that aren’t so obvious that any random person would know what they were at a glance. I like when you have to be into a fandom in order to get a shirt, and this one was one of my favorites I found and I knew it would be the perfect shirt for the Animal Crossing Gift Guide.
Instead of a huge ANIMAL CROSSING emblazoned shirt, this one is understated and really shows that you are a patron of the fine arts and artifacts on your island. Who doesn’t love a shirt that shows your love of museums, of creating an animal preserve, and of Animal Crossing?

You can find the Animal Crossing museum collection shirt on Amazon where you can choose the shirt color and size.
