Love isn't a strong enough word for how much we adore the Britax B-Ready stroller. We got the original B-Ready back in 2011 when it first came out, and it was the best choice we could have made for our family. Having gone through several strollers already with our two small children, we were ready for a quality-built stroller and had considered several double strollers, but something told us to wait for the B-Ready. The wait for the B-Ready was worth it because truly nothing compares to the performance and versatility, its luxury details and its 12 different configurations. Even now, 6 years later, I love the B-Ready stroller more every year as it has grown with our family. With the added bottom seat it proved to be the perfect double stroller for us – first as a mom of two little ones and now as a mom of three who sometimes has to cart around bigger kids as well as the baby. Since we walk everywhere with our three kiddos, we have put hundreds and hundreds {and hundreds} of miles on our beloved B-Ready stroller throughout the years, over three countries and countless cities and towns.
Just look at our beloved old B-Ready stroller loaded up for a sunrise-to-sundown 3-kid adventure in Disney World. Folks, this is how you travel at our fast pace with three young kids and still have an amazing time. We're talking two full seats and one add-on rider board for crisscrossing the parks quickly. Nap time can happen whenever a kid gets tired, no one complains that their legs are tired, and we have plenty of space for drinks, souvenirs, and any day-out necessities.
P.S. If you're looking for that nifty little rider board that can attach to the B-Ready with the second seat in place, click here. It's from Guzzie + Guss and it has saved us more times than I can count.
So, we were positively giddy when we were told we would get the newly redesigned 2017 Britax B-Ready to try out. When it arrived, we couldn't even contain our excitement and we headed out immediately to check it out.
The first thing we noticed is that the new model is even slimmer than the older model and just a little bit longer.
In double mode, the double-decker design is already so much thinner than a side-by-side double, but this new model is even slimmer and more agile than before. Since we're in the city frequently, I love that around town it’s not too wide for shopping and small doorways, but it still has a large seat that's big enough to hold my older kids should their energy get depleted mid-adventure.
And, because of the stacking design, the top seat is also so much higher than most other strollers, which I love because it means that baby really gets to be part of the action, too. It's so much easier to talk with her on our walks when the seat is facing me, or to give her good visibility for our adventures when she's facing out, and I love that when it's time to eat, she rolls right up to the table – no high chair required.Even with the slimmer design, I love that it's still a beast that can handle any terrain. It’s easy to travel by trail, over fields, and on sidewalks, and even over firm sand since its big wheels and foam-filled rubber tires allow it to push easily, even when loaded up with kids and gear. The second big change is that the side cup holder is gone on the new model. Even though I miss having a designed parent cup holder as a standard accessory, I love that they took it off the side of the stroller frame. I was constantly knocking it off the frame going through tight spaces or having to remove it for placing in our trunk, so I appreciate that it's no longer an issue. To add cup holders for us parents, we just added the stroller organizer that creates a console on the stroller handle for cups, random odds and ends the kids pick up, and even a place for my cell phone, which I love. The next big change in the new model are the premium fabrics that make it look even sportier. The seat and canopy have even more reinforced stitching detail that I love since that's where our old model really started showing its age. The basket below also went through a transformation and is now all-mesh on the sides and front, but still has a zippered access panel in the front so you can reach what you need on the go. But, probably the biggest change is the weight of the new stroller. As someone that logged some serious time lifting our old folded B-Ready into my trunk, carrying it upstairs, lugging it around on mass transit, and through airports and stations while traveling, I can tell you that every ounce counts. The new B-Ready stroller is so much lighter than the original model, from the lighter frame to the fabrics used. Smaller changes to note: The new canopy has a much larger window with a finer mesh, the new harness buckle and the bumper bar have slightly different connections, the top seat now has 4 recline positions instead of 3, the back wheels no longer have fenders, and the locking/unlocking mechanism both for the front wheels as well as for folding/unfolding has changed.
That may sound like a whole lot that's new, but there are some big things that haven't changed – including how comfortable it is for the kids for long distances. All of the kids have napped in the new stroller while we've walked, and our little one actually begs to get in the stroller and go for a walk, which is pretty awesome. And, just like the older model, the new one is still really comfortable for both hubby {6’3”} and me {5’9”} to push with the adjustable handle. Neither of us ever kick the frame or the bottom seat, even with our long strides when we are running to catch a train or hurrying from event to event. I can think of no better way to be ready for anything than with the B-Ready. I'll be completely honest when I say that we had our pick of strollers from just about any stroller company throughout the years, and yet we've made the choice to stick with our B-Ready for over six years now because we absolutely love it. I truly thought we'd never give up our trusty Red B-Ready until we were all done with little ones.
But, after pushing the new 2017 B-Ready model for a bit and seeing all the wonderful new changes, I'm actually not that sad to donate old Red. Sure, we had some amazing times in the old stroller that we will always remember, but I'm really excited to see how many hundreds of miles we can get on this new model and I'm really happy that we will get to pass our old one onto a family that can make their own great memories with it.

Does your stroller board still fit on the new one?
Yes, it does! We had to modify it for both versions a bit, but it actually works better on the newer model!
Hello, do you know if this Guzzie stroller board fits the 2016 Britax B-Ready with both seats on?!
Do you have any pictures or videos of how you add the stroller board with the two seats on?
