Here in Seattle, we’re not ready to give up on enjoying the great outdoors, and we’re enjoying every day before the rain starts in on us. This means hours spent on walks around the neighborhood, cookouts with family and friends, and evenings spent in the backyard watching the kids play and grilling up dinner.

As part of our autumn cooking, we’re enjoying grilling up a regional favorite with a Texas twist. By using local Foster Farms Fresh & Natural chicken and pairing it with Stubb’s Bar-B-Q and grilling sauces, we’re bringing grilling season back in a big way. Foster Farms and corn

For our recent football cookout, we started by visiting our local Albertsons and stocking up on Foster Farms Fresh & Natural chicken drumsticks that would be perfect on the grill. Knowing where my food comes from and how it’s prepared is really important to me, and I love that Foster Farms is locally raised in the Pacific Northwest so it’s always fresh, 100% natural, and American Humane Certified, with no added hormones or steroids. Foster Farms at AlbertsonsNext stop on our shopping trip was the sauces, and this is where I like to have some fun thinking of how we can make our meal amazing. After checking out the selection and reading labels, we chose two Stubb’s Bar-B-Q sauces {original for the kids, spicy for us adults} and a Stubb’s chicken marinade. Stubb's BBQ saucesWant to know what sold me on Stubb’s? Stubb’s Bar-B-Q sauces, marinades and rubs are made with quality, gluten free ingredients without high-fructose corn syrup, artificial preservatives, colors, sweeteners, or flavorings. In fact, it only has two secret ingredients according to Stubb: “Love and Happiness”. I don’t know about you, but those are the only secret ingredients I want in my food.

Since our weekends are typically really busy with school activities, events, and visiting family and friends, I don’t want to spend all day prepping, cooking, and cleaning. A quick and delicious meal that has almost no prep time, cooks quickly, and has very little cleanup so I can watch the football game with the rest of the family all make me really happy. Foster Farms Stubb's marinadeFor this meal, getting dinner ready was as easy as covering the drum sticks with Stubb’s chicken marinade and letting them soak in the flavor for a few hours. After the chicken was marinated, we then added some BBQ sauce and we were ready to light up the grill.Foster Farms Stubb's BBQ chickenOnce the grill was heated up, we started the chicken cooking, adding the two different BBQ sauces as needed. I firmly believe you can never have too much BBQ sauce, so I was liberally applying as they cooked.Foster Farms on the grillNext we threw some corn on the grill and cooked that up as a side dish. Foster Farms two types of chickenInstead of cooking it low and slow, we were excited to get food ready and start the game, so we turned up the heat to medium and cooked the chicken until it reached 165 degrees. Foster Farms off the grillI added an easy spinach salad to balance out the meal and it was time to eat.
