I know play time for children is vital as it helps them learn about the world around them in ways I can’t teach them in a book, so I always make play time a priority. From unstructured playtime to working together to create a talent show, a fairy garden, or a circus, we fill our days with as much play as we possibly can. So, I was a little taken aback the other day when I told my kids I wanted them to wear play clothes if they were going to be out digging in our backyard and they both looked at me like I was crazy. “Do you mean dress up clothes?” my daughter asked. Clearly, they aren’t of my generation where we had two categories of clothing: play clothes and fancy. To my kids, everything is play clothes, even if they really shouldn’t be. We’re talking fancy holiday dresses year-round at the beach and white button-up shirts and dresses while gardening. After looking through their closets it became really clear that they could both use some new “play clothes” for summer that would allow them to swing on monkey bars, skip rope, and do all the other things kids should be doing all day without worrying about restrictive clothing getting in the way.
I told the kids we were heading to Gymboree to shop the new Hop ‘N’ Roll collection and they all but ran there, arriving at the store and making a beeline to their favorite spot while I shopped. With adorable mix and match playwear, the Hop 'N' Roll line is made to keep up with the rhythm of play. From playdates to picnics in the park, Gymboree has the cutest play clothes for everything we’ve got planned this summer, and they will still look adorable in all of our family pictures on our many adventures. It’s no wonder that Gymboree would realize how important play is and design clothes specifically for playing in. Since its beginning in 1976 with Play & Music centers, Gymboree has understood the power of play. This new line of cute, comfortable, and coordinated style at an everyday great price is perfect for whatever play kids can dream up, and it’s available for boy and girl in sizes 6 months to 10.
This is great because there are plenty of options for even the pickiest dresser, and even options for coordinating sibling outfits. We ended up falling in love with coordinating outfits for the girls because my daughter insists they match whenever possible, and then we found a simple stripe shirt for my son so he wouldn’t feel left out. What I love about all three outfits is that they are all designed for moving – whether it’s tumbling, rolling, or simply running. It’s very clear that these new outfits from the Hop ‘N’ Roll line are perfect for keeping up with active kids – without any tugging or adjusting. And, now is a great time to buy the new line because with the launch of Hop 'N' Roll, Gymboree has partnered with KaBOOM!, a national non-profit, with the mission of giving 10,000 deserving kids a place to play in 2015. From 4/6 – 5/31, a percentage of the proceeds from the sales of Hop ‘N’ Roll in store and online will go to fund a series of programs and activities with KaBOOM!, so every time you shop you will be giving others the gift of play! Head on over the Gymboree.com/HopNRoll and check out the line for yourself. Each quality piece is ready to mix, match and brighten up any day…and it’s all so reasonably priced that you might want to buy it all.
