Wean Cubes Glass Baby Food Containers

Growing up I was fortunate to have a mother who was ahead of her time.  Although I remember some occasional resentment when everyone around me at lunchtime opened their lunch boxes to bright packaging and store-bought treats, the truth is, my mom was on the organic train before it really left the station.

From the time I was introduced to solid foods, the ingredients came only from the natural and farmers markets in the area and the preparation was right at home.  She knew exactly how that food was handled and everything that went into it, before it went into me.  As an expecting, first time mother I appreciate my mother’s decisions even more and can’t imagine not following in her footsteps.  How lucky for me that my mom’s thinking is more popular today than ever before and I can reach out to great companies and resources to help me in my pursuit.

Hero_3_3 I was lucky to come across Wean Green and its functionally and environmentally friendly Wean Cubes.  These glass baby food containers are great quality, which of course is a requirement of anything for baby, but a great plus for Daddy and me, too!  The glass is, of course, BPA free and very durable, and the fabulous bright colored lids are silicone-sealed for a great leak free hold.

I also appreciate the different lid colors so that I can keep foods organized. I am thinking the Pea and Carrot lids for veggies and the Blueberry and Raspberry lids for fruits.   Since I will be going back to work full time, it’s never a bad idea to make sure there is a system in place for me to remember (and Daddy too).

My favorite feature is the versatility of the WeanCube; this one container to do basically everything but spoon the food into baby’s mouth.  They can go from the oven to the freezer, to the microwave to the refrigerator, and finally to the dishwasher without staining no matter what you store in them!  This is definitely a plus for everyone in the house, since Daddy gets the dishes.  The measuring lines on each cube are ideal for sorting out appropriate portions and monitoring intake, too.

Whatever is on the menu for baby, I can be confident that the nutrients in my ingredients are being prepared, cooked, served and stored in quality to ensure the best for baby too!

WEAN-GLBLUE-300x246 Though it’s not technically a part of your purchase, the Wean Green website is incredible.  Every week they offer a Flavor of the Week (products they like/recommend) and Recipe of the Week as a part of the online blog.  It’s comforting to have a resource when preparing for baby and even more reassuring to know that the products I purchase for baby come from a company with values that align so well to my own.

To test out the Wean Cubes I tried the Slow Cooker Applesauce recipe.  It was delicious!  And for Daddy and I they are the perfect portions for my molten chocolate cakes.  A great fix for my pregnancy chocolate cravings, without being too much chocolate for baby!

I can’t wait to get back online and order a few more of these wonderful Wean Cubes.  The possibilities are endless of things for baby and for us too!  Lucky for me, Wean Green has offered Rave and Review readers a 15% discount just by entering the code "raveandreview" at checkout thru 11/30/10!
