DownEast Basics Review

The snow and ice is finally melting and we’re all thinking about breathing some life back into our closets. The DownEast Basics new spring arrivals are the perfect place to start to get your wardrobe ready for the warm weather ahead. Of course, the fact that both “tall” and “trim” are in the product name was initially a selling point, but what completely sold me on the Trouser Jeans was their sophisticated approach to laid-back demin. With a nautical inspired mid rise cut and a dark wash that can go from day to night, the Trouser Jeans are both fashionable and fun at the same time. The Trouser Jeans have a flared cut and a wide cuff that make them perfect for dress shoes as well as sandals and sneakers. And, because I’m truly sick of high-water pants, I love that the Tall & Trim Trousers come in your choice of two inseams.

Of course, I also fell in love with their Platinum Jeans, which comes in four different lengths from 30” to 36”, including short and extra tall (be still, my heart). After trying out their denim firsthand, the Platinum Jeans are now first on my list of items I will be purchasing for fall.

I know a lot of people get nervous about buying clothing online and don’t want to worry about having to ship items back if they are not quite right, so I always love a company that has true to size clothing and a good size chart for reference. It’s especially nice that they include all inseam sizes and talk about the fit of the product in the item description, helping you get the best fit for your body.
