No monetary compensation was received for this rave review. We just wanted to share our love of these magnetic toys and how you can build your dream house with Magformers.
We love all things magnetic, so it’s no surprise that we fell in love with Magformers years ago. The kiddos have now amassed a huge collection of the little magnetic building sets for all of their various interests and they are one of our most beloved toys. We love creating 2D and 3D shapes from the magnetic pieces, but they especially love creating little {or large} houses for their characters to live in.
What are Magformers?
Click, Connect, Create! Magformers allows you to build anything you can imagine. Magformers only look basic when you break down their individual parts, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t build some truly remarkable things.
Each geometric Magformers shape contains magnets that never reject, so you’ll always hear the Magformers click when it connects. But, what I really love? When playtime is over, use the magnetic power to simply stack and store. It’s *almost* as fun to put away as it is to play with!
Use these little shapes to create 3D structures by stacking them together in small shapes or you can use the roll and pull-up technique for advanced play. My kids can play for hours creating houses, towers, and even moving pieces thanks to the magic of magnets.
All Magformers sets include step-by-step instructions, or you can just free-form play if that’s more your style. No matter which why you play, the kids will develop color and shape recognition, fine motor skills, and an increased problem-solving ability. Magformers help encourage critical thinking and are a great STEM supplement.
How to build your dream house with Magformers
This year we fell in love with the Magformers Milo’s Mansion Set and Minibot Kitchen Set shown at Sweet Suite. These sets are great for little builders and have the added bonus of having adorable accessories to make any house a home. Since my kids love making houses, I knew that the new mini figure sets were going to be a huge hit.
Milo’s Mansion includes bricks to make a small tower, as well as a dog house for Milo complete with family picture and dog food. Also included are a fun doggie skateboard, a cute tree, and accessories to make a house a home – like doors, windows, and stairs.
Minibot’s Kitchen Set includes an adorable Magformers robot named Minibot, as well as some basic building pieces and accessories. We especially love the stove and refrigerator as well as the kitchen chairs and table. Since the kitchen is arguably the heart of the home, I love that we can create our own Magformers kitchen to fit in any home.
What I love most about these sets is that they can combine together to make an even bigger house. I know we’re going to eventually own all the mini house sets so we can make a gigantic house for the kids to play with and utilize all their many Magformers sets.
Learn and build with Magformers
We’ve had a ton of fun with the sets already and they only just arrived. I can’t wait to add these to our massive collection of Magformers pieces as part of our creative time for faux school, or, as we like to call it, back-to-homeschool.
Some days we may be following directions so my little one can re-emphasize her colors and shapes, or we are just having fun together as a family. No matter what age of kiddos are playing, there are so many learning opportunities.
We can work together to see how big of a structure we can construct before it collapses under its own weight. We can challenge each other to a build-off where we all try and create our spin on a specific design. We can time each other and see how long it takes to build certain shapes in 2D and 3D. There are learning opportunities everywhere with Magformers.
Follow the Step-by-step educational idea booklet for ideas and instructions. Each geometric shape contains magnets that never reject, so you’ll always hear the Magformers click. When playtime is over, use the magnetic power to simply stack and store.
