Can a chair change your life? The Boulies Master Rex just might. Mattress companies are fond of spouting claims such as the fact that people spend 25% – 33% of their lives sleeping to justify why mattresses are so dang expensive. But what you don’t hear as much is that a third of your life is spent working, and for most of us, that means sitting in an office chair. Then, when you consider the fact that gaming and leisure activities also can involve an office and gaming chair, it’s a staggering amount of time spent at a desk or console.
If you’ve ever sat in a terrible office chair, you get how a decent ergonomic chair makes a huge difference in how you work, play, and feel. And, then if you were to add in intelligent design, comfort engineering, ergonomic support, and being able to fine-tune your seat like you can with the Boulies Master Rex, you would agree that comfort and built-in features make all the difference in the world. The ultimate in comfort
One of my favorite features of the Boulies Master Rex is that it has an integrated soft, cushioned leg rest for pressure-free reclining. The leg rest has a unique slide-out design that allows it to almost disappear underneath the chair seat when not in use. But, when you’re ready to relax you can slide it outwards and flip up the cushioned top. Whether you’re sneaking an afternoon nap, getting comfortable for gaming or VR, simply watching TV, or in our case playing with the cat, the leg rest is essential.
Top-of-the-line ergonomics
It also has great ergonomic support with multiple levels of adjustments well beyond raising and lowering the seat using the class-4 gas hydraulic lift. You can also fine-tune the lumbar support to precisely align with your spine’s natural curvature with the easy-to-use knob on the side of the chair.
You can add in the optional, removable pillow that is included. And, you can also set the recline as much or as little as you’d like from 95° to 165° with either a rocking motion or a securely fixed tilt.
Customizable armrests
Boulies uses aluminum constructed 4D armrests from high-grade aluminum alloy, making the armrests stronger, smoother, and more durable than other chairs. They have also redesigned the arm pods to be softer, providing optimal comfort and support for your elbows.
And, because Boulies understands that not everyone is sitting at a keyboard or with a mouse, you can also customize the armrests in multiple ways depending on how you’re using the chair. This includes being able to set the armrests to pivot inward for when you’re holding a controller or doing photo/video editing and need your elbows closer to your body. Ergonomics is a weird thing and it really isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution, so I love that you can easily change things up depending on the user or the task at hand.
Tailored round edge cushion
Oh, and the chair itself is incredibly comfortable. It is currently my son’s favorite place to sit in the entire house and he would love it if he could conceivably watch TV in it, game in, and even eat dinner in the chair. This is partly due to the amazing customization of the ergonomic adjustments mentioned previously, but also the Boulies Master Rex chair seat cushion is comfortable in its own right.
By eliminating sharp corners and using smooth curves instead, the cushion conforms to the natural contours of your body and reduces pressure on your hips and thighs. Furthermore, it offers a wider seating area where you can find your ideal seating posture and enjoy a comfortable experience tailored to you. I think I’ve seen all of the teens utilize approximately 100 different sitting positions since the chair arrived, some looking markedly more comfortable than others.
Oh, and it looks cool, too
We chose the signature Boulies Ultraflex PU leather instead of the water repellant fabric because we loved the way that the contrast stitching really stood out on the PU leather. Using inspiration from the luxurious upholstery found in sports cars the Boulies Master Rex has style to spare. The seat is soft and smooth, and it looks great in the teens room, a professional office, or even in a living space.
