Rocky 4EurSole night
Remember when I told you about my new Rocky 4EurSole sandals I fell in love with last month and how comfortable they were even for all-day events or for chasing after kiddos? Well, I’m happy to report that they are actually more comfortable now that I’ve worn them quite a bit! The sole itself has stayed the same cushiony, springy support I was raving about, but the leather has softened with wear and they now feel like old friends when I slip them on again. Rocky sandals

Where cute meets comfort – introducing the Rocky 4EurSole sandals

A wise person once told me that life was too short to wear uncomfortable footwear. Never has that been more true than when you are caring for and chasing after kiddos. Ever try and take care of toddlers in stilettos? No thank you. I’ll take a pair of sneakers or sandals any day. Rocky 4Eur Sole daytime lookBut, that doesn’t mean you have to wear ugly orthopedic shoes. In fact, you can even wear cute, fashionable footwear in comfort with Rocky 4EurSole. With so many cute options to choose from, they make practical footwear actually lust-worthy.

When I was thinking about my needs over the next few months, I decided pretty quickly that I wanted to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Spring and summer in the Pacific Northwest is truly the best with waterparks, lakes, rivers, ocean, and pools in just about every town, so starting in spring break we spend most of our time in and around water. Clearly, I needed a good, comfortable sandal that would look and feel great for all of our adventures with kids, and I knew Rocky 4Eur Sole was the perfect place to turn.

Air Angel mobile germ-fighting air sanitizer and purifier

Sponsored postYou think about dust, allergens, and pollutants outside, but do you have any idea what quality your indoor air is? Chances are that you don't, because everyone thought I was crazy when I was testing ours. Using a simple Petri dish that we could watch bacteria grow on and multiply, we got to see just how bad indoor air can be. Then we got to see how good indoor air could be with the Air Angel™ from Air Oasis.

Truthfully, I never thought much about indoor air quality, but after seeing the results from the PTPA award-winning Air Angel™ in the before and after Petri Dish Test, I am definitely a believer. The Air Angel was only here a week and our air quality was not only noticeably better, but it was also apparent on the Petri dish. Air Angel on baseAir Oasis’s Air Angel is a small mobile germ-fighting air sanitizer and purifier. 6 tips to getting a good night’s sleep with Restonic {ComfortCare Select mattress}

Sponsored postRecently, I’ve been thinking a lot about beds. Namely, that I don’t spend nearly enough time in mine. But, with full days and late nights trying to work after the kiddos go to sleep, paired with middle of the night feedings and early mornings doing school drop-offs, sleep has been somewhat elusive these past few months. Such is the life of a mom of three.

Of course, all the tiredness is more than worth it when you wake up to this smiling face. Baby in bedBut, that doesn’t mean I have to just have to accept that I’m just not going to get good sleep. It turns out there are plenty of ways I can at least enhance the little bit of shut eye that I do get and wake feeling less like a zombie every morning.

Here are just a few suggestions you can use to make every night as restful as possible.

The Snuza Go! baby care aid for total peace of mind

Sponsored post basic disclosure
New baby in hospital
A few years before I had kids, my cousin had a scare that sent them to the hospital only days after bringing home their newborn. I heard my cousin tell the story about how she was holding her baby and felt her stop breathing and I never quite got over it. My little cousin ended up being fine and was diagnosed with sleep apnea that was then treated, but I remember thinking “what if they hadn’t been holding her when she stopped breathing?”

I don’t think there’s anything more frightening than being handed a teeny tiny little baby and sent home with it, knowing that you are solely responsible for keeping that child safe. 24 hours a day. A time in which I would need to sleep, shower, and at some point, work from home. I vividly remember the first few days of parenthood when I would check my daughter’s breathing about 10 million times an hour and would only be able to concentrate on something else for a second if I had verified with 100% accuracy that she was, in fact, still breathing.

Encourage a love of reading with Kobo Kids

Kobo Disclosure Buttons
KoboKids makes it fun to read
If I were to summarize what I’ve learned so far about preparing your child to learn, it would look like this: foster a love of reading in your child. This message has come in many forms, but it’s always the same takeaway. Read with your child, give your child access to great books, and, likely most important, lead by example, and you will prepare your child for success in numerous facets of school and life.

I feel we’ve done fairly well at this in most regards and we are definitely raising little readers, but up until recently we haven’t had much time to model this behavior ourselves. Any parent of young children will tell you that there simply are not enough hours in the day, and one of my main struggles has been finding the time to get back into the kind of reading I did pre-kids.  Siblings in coffee shop

From toddler to teen: the answer is the Zazoo Kids photo clock

Up until just a few months ago, our kids were a parent’s dream at night.  We would literally pop them in their beds after their bedtime routine and not hear from either one again until I would have to wake them up in the morning.  Yes, true story.  But, while my son is still firmly … Read more

Capturing memories with the Sony Handycam

Everyone always says it, but I just don’t think you understand it until becoming a parent: time passes much too fast.  Even though my kids are still young, there’s been so many times my husband and I would turn to each other and say “do you remember how Bubs used to say _____?” or “what park was that where he took his first steps?”

My mom holding my son when he was firstborn

I can only imagine this gets exponentially more difficult to remember the older they get and there are so many more milestones to keep track of.  While I’ve tried to keep up with their baby books and journals, I oftentimes wish we had caught that adorable expression or pronunciation on video so we could watch it over and over and relive all those moments that pass too quick.
