Disney’s Coco opens in theaters today

Are you as excited about Disney-Pixar’s Coco as we are? This was a movie the kids and I have been waiting for, and I have to admit I was apprehensive that it was going to disappoint. We’ve been going to Seattle’s Day of the Dead festival for years so this was a subject we’ve talked … Read more

CARS 3 comes racing home on DVD and Blu-ray

For 6+ years, we’ve been mega fans of the Disney•Pixar’s CARS franchise. Our love started when my son became obsessed with all things that go and especially connected with CARS because of the fact that the films gave backstories and personalities to humanize cars, trucks, and other vehicles. After all of these years, we have … Read more

Sharing our love of Cars 3

For the past few years, we’ve been mega fans of the Disney-Pixar Cars franchise. It started when my son saw the first movie when we was tiny and he was so smitten with things that go and the fact that the films gave backstories and personalities to humanize cars, trucks, and other vehicles. After seeing … Read more

Strengthening the sibling bond with Disney•Pixar’s Cars 3

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #UltimatePitStop #CollectiveBiasDisney Pixar Cars worldAround here it’s been a mini construction zone for days. The kiddos have been busy repurposing toys, household items, and art supplies to create a little world for them to play in. This may look like any old kids’ project, but for them, and for our family, this isn’t just child’s play or a random assortment of things – this is how the siblings bond using Disney•Pixar’s Cars 3.

If you know my older kids, you know they are exceptionally close, despite being different genders and over two years apart in age. They play together happily for hours and hours each day and for the most part agree on toys, activities, and things they enjoy. But, there has been one activity they have disagreed on since my son was old enough to communicate.

Bring The Good Dinosaur home today

Sponsored postWe missed seeing Disney•Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur in theaters by mere hours, and my kids have been reminding me about it ever since. The kids are both dinosaur obsessed, and since it’s Disney•Pixar, it’s always a safe bet so I thought it would be a fun film to own once it came out. But, I will admit I knew absolutely nothing about the film, except for the fact that it was about prehistoric times and it had a boy in it.

The Good Dinosaur finally arrived on DVD and Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD, and Disney Movies Anywhere {DMA} today, February 23rd, and we immediately sat down for a family movie night to check it out with the kiddos. GoodDinosaurBlurayCombo.jpg_rgbIt turns out I was right, it was about prehistoric times {thank you, obvious title}. And, I was definitely right that this is a film that we needed to own. But, I had thought that the movie was about a boy who finds a dinosaur. It turns out it’s about a dinosaur who finds a boy. I know that probably seems like a distinction without a difference, but if you have seen the film, you understand.

Why you should take your kids to see Disney•Pixar’s Inside Out

Sponsored post Image003
Sometimes I forget how hard it is to be a kid. Navigating childhood is a mine field filled with mean kids, peer pressure, tough schoolwork, and embarrassing moments. And, all the while you are figuring out who you are and how you fit into your family, your school, your teams, and with your friends. Now that my kids are getting older, I find myself looking at them a lot and wondering what is going on inside their heads.

Is that a tired look, or is that sadness? Is that pure joy, or are they holding back for some reason? Are their friends including them or are they feeling left out? Try as I might to find out what’s going on, most of the time when I ask how things are going or about how they feel about specific people and situations I get the same response.

“Good,” they say. Good? What does “good” mean, anyway?

BRAVE on Blu-ray and DVD Today

Sometimes when I’m snuggling with my daughter, she will put her hands on both cheeks, look into my eyes and say, “I never, ever want to turn you to a bear!”  The reference, of course, is the DisneyPixar movie, Brave that we saw last spring and she has been talking about ever since.  A heartwarming … Read more

BRAVE: A New Disney Princess

For months I have been dying to see the new DisneyPixar movie, Brave, and have been counting down the days until I could take my daughter to see the film.  Of course, we were thrilled when we got a chance to see a 3D prescreening in Seattle last week, a few days before it was released in theaters.

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock {or rather, away from screens of any kind}, you’ve probably seen the previews of the film a few hundred times.  Likely, you’ve noticed the heroine’s striking red hair and signature bow and arrow, as well as the amazing animation DisneyPixar is known for.
