Have you heard the news? American Girl just released their newest contemporary doll, Z Yang last week. “Z” {short for Suzie} is Korean American and hails from Seattle {every girl in the PNW, including my two littles, is squealing right now}. Not only do I adore that she’s from Seattle, I love that Z is a stop-motion vlogger, which is my oldest’s dream job. Fans have come to know and love Z as the star of the American Girl’s immensely popular web series, Z’s Crew. In the web series, Z loves staying connected with friends and sharing a good story through her stop motion videos.

Spring shopping at Northgate Mall in Seattle
So, Easter in Seattle was cold and rainy, like usual. But, we didn’t mind because our rain plan was actually our only plan: The Northgate Mall EGGcellent Easter Party for Kidgits members. But, that won’t be a surprise to anyone that knows us, since Northgate Mall is pretty much our holiday go-to plan if we aren’t seeing family.
This past weekend the mall was all done up for Easter for their EGGcellent Easter Party, and as usual, it did not disappoint. There was face painting, treats to snack on, robotics to marvel over, crafts to construct, and even live bunnies to hold. We checked in at the Kidgits Club desk and showed our membership cards to get little goodie bags for the kiddos, and then we headed over to take our annual pictures with the Easter Bunny before we visited the booths. Here’s one of my favorite shots from our Bunny Photo Experience:
Our annual tradition: Breakfast with Santa at Northgate Mall
This weekend we got a chance to cross off another family tradition on our list this year: the Northgate Mall’s annual Breakfast with Santa. Every year we look forward to the beginning of December so we can dress up the kiddos in some fancy new clothes from Gymboree and head to Northgate Mall to meet the big guy himself while enjoying a nice continental breakfast. Yes, we could technically see him any day since he has been in the mall for weeks, but there is something special about waiting for the event for the whole experience. Like last year, there were awesome crafts, we ate donuts and had coffee, and there were carolers to make it extra fun and festive.
Catch Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get the Sillies Out! when they visit your city
Last Friday we officially Got The Sillies out when Yo Gabba Gabba Live was in Seattle at the gorgeous Paramount Theatre. Being that this was our third year attending {There’s a Party In My City in 2010 and It’s Time to Dance in 2011}, we pretty much knew what we were in for as far … Read more
An Evening in Seattle with Tom Douglas and Macy’s Culinary Council
Please tell me I'm not the only one who's scared of cooking for others. Yes, I cook for my family every day, but I don't really entertain over dinner. If you come over around dinnertime I will come up with clever ways of not cooking that don't involve ordering pizza, or I will throw something together … Read more
The Children’s Place holiday 2012 preview NYC event
We love The Children’s Place and are very lucky to be surrounded by numerous store locations so we can pop in frequently to see what’s new for the season. But, this year I got a bit of a sneak peak of the holiday line while in BlogHer and it was adorable.
The Children’s Place holiday preview was one of the many NYC events hosted by the amazing Nicole Feliciano of Momtrends. The event took place in the heart of midtown at the historic Bryant Park Hotel and just a short walk from the BlogHer convention.
Liz from A Nut in a Nutshell, Xenia from Thanks, Mail Carrier, and me. We were THERE! TOGETHER!
Coming in from a hot and humid day on the streets of New York, when we arrived on the Momtrends suite level, it made it immediately feel a few dozen degrees cooler. With “snow” drifts and winter clothing meeting us at the door, it was as if we stepped right inside a large snowglobe full of cute – with an amazing view of the city.
Back to school with Lands’ End and Momtrends NYC event
Recently, I went back to school with 200+ bloggers while at BlogHer. While we did load buses, take class pictures, and get report cards, this was a very different kind of school than you’re used to. For one, this school was co-run by two of our favorite brands, Lands' End and Momtrends, and passing grades meant you got an adorable backpack to take home.
As usual, I got straight As. But this time I can give some credit to the instructors who all did a wonderful job of teaching their “course” and for their very, very lax grading system that seemed to be mostly based off of attendance.
Nordstrom Rack Westlake Grand Opening Tomorrow in Seattle
If you’re in the Seattle area, chances are you probably have heard chatter about a new Nordstrom Rack opening at Westlake in downtown Seattle. No, not the old Rack, the one that has sat a few blocks west of the main shopping downtown for over two decades, remodeled – this is an entirely new store. … Read more
Happy Summer Solstice!
It's {finally} summer! Can I get a woo hoo? Seriously, Washington was dealt the worst. spring. ever. As in a snowy spring. As in record rainfall. Bleh! I really couldn't be happier to welcome summer after such a long, wet, and cold spring. I say bring on the sun! Oh, and that spring/summer event about … Read more
