They love a good series that they can really get into and follow along with the characters, and horses are a huge deal around here, so Spirit Riding Free was basically made for them. Since we limit our kids’ screentime, I love that the episodes are fairly short and can be watched independently, but they are still a special treat they all look forward to.

DreamWorks has just introduced Spirit Riding Free season 3 just in time for winter when we’re all looking forward to cuddling up by the fire for family TV nights. The kids just finished the first two seasons earlier this month, so they love that they now have something to look forward to a few times a week.

Even when we’re not watching the show together, we’ve been enjoying some really fun Spirit Riding Free fun. They still play with the Spirit toys that were sent to us this summer as well as ones we have picked up ourselves after they fell hard for the series. They love to reenact their favorite scenes with their horses from the Spirit blind bags, and I love that they are small enough to take with us when we’re out and about.

So, I was super excited when DreamWorks sent us the Spirit Riding Free dolls that my kids have been eyeing for months. I know these are going to be HUGE hits this holiday season and I can’t wait for them to open them for even more Spirit Riding Free fun. 91jB3NcU6fL._SL1500_
About the series:

Twelve-year-old Lucky Prescott craves adventure, but as a young lady of society she’s only been allowed to experience adventure through books. That is, until one fateful day when Lucky, her father, and her aunt leave their neat-and-tidy city life and travel to their new home out west-the Wild West. On the way to her new home, Lucky looks out the train window and sees a majestic wild stallion. When their eyes meet, she senses a connection. But when the stallion is caught by wranglers, Lucky’s heart breaks. And when she next sees the stallion, he’s tied to a post, refusing to be “broken in.”

Season 3 of Spirit Riding Free begins with Spirit and Lucky desperately trying to find one another and finally reunited in Miradero. Once together, the PALs and their horses set out on all-new thrilling adventures – racing to stop an oncoming train, helping a horse deliver her foal, trying to stay one step ahead of pesky Snips and cousin Julian or embarking on daring rescue missions. Amidst all the excitement, we will see the PALs exploring environs beyond Miradero, making wonderful new friends and meeting some new horses from Spirit’s herd. Join the PALs for an action-packed journey that above all celebrates the unbreakable bond between Lucky and Spirit.

  2. I’ll be honest I have never seen the show before but I am entering because my niece is a huge fan and loves the show. She actually rides horses and just turned 8 recently so this doll would be perfect for her.

  3. in the book she is very gentle with the horse and the horse appreciates her friendship – this is what my grand daughter noticed when we were reading together. Said that we always need to be nice to anyone and all animals. She would truly enjoy this doll.

  4. I like that girls are portrayed as adventurous and “rough”… A lot of girls in shows are princesses. But my niece wants to be Batman, not Cinderella.
