Sharing our love of Cars 3

Disney Pixar Cars on cobblestoneSponsored post
For the past few years, we’ve been mega fans of the Disney-Pixar Cars franchise. It started when my son saw the first movie when we was tiny and he was so smitten with things that go and the fact that the films gave backstories and personalities to humanize cars, trucks, and other vehicles.

After seeing Disney-Pixar’s Cars for the first time, he began to collect the Cars diecast cars with any money he was given. We now have hundreds {I wish that was an exaggeration} of those diecast Cars and toys, all cataloged and stored in special display cases in my son’s room when they aren’t being played with. But, they are constantly being played with so they don’t sit displayed for long. I told you, they are mega Cars fans. Disney Pixar Cars playsetAnd, I’m a huge fan because even though my girls refuse to play with other types of cars with their brother, Cars diecasts have human characteristics, which means my girls enjoy them, too. In the years since he has been collecting his Cars, they have bonded while designing huge Cars worlds that the kids work on for hours and painstakingly set up. Disney Pixar It's Fritter TimeIt’s this reason that Cars movies have been one of the few we have watched over and over throughout the years. I love that they are something that really speaks to my son, while still being fun for the girls an for us parents to watch, which we all know can be tough to find.

It’s really no surprise that we were all excited to see the new Cars 3 movie in theaters this summer, and it was all my son talked about for days leading up to the release. He was pretty devastated when he found out that we were booked solid the two weeks after the movie came out and we were going to have to wait to go see it.

So, when a package arrived from Autotrader arrived that included a gift card to see the movie, some snacks to enjoy, diecast Cars toys to play with, and a super cool Cars 3 picnic blanket, you can bet we were excited. Cars3 Autotrader packageAutotrader is collaborating with Disney-Pixar to promote Cars 3 this summer, which to me seems like a natural fit. Says Jessica Stafford, vice president of marketing at Autotrader, “Much like the Cars franchise, Autotrader shares a personal connection with people of all ages and at all life stages, and we feel this is reflected in the playful content we developed with the Disney and Pixar teams to further drive excitement for our brand and the upcoming premiere of Cars 3.”

We finally saw the movie last week, and we all loved it so much. To celebrate the new film, we went and had a Cars 3 picnic before our showing and lounged on our brand new Cars 3 picnic blanket. 6tag_060717-124400In the movie, Lightning McQueen is blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers and is suddenly being pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that No. 95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage. Throughout the movie Lightning struggles to find his value, to find where he is meant to be, and inspiration that is needed to make it where he wants to go.

It was the perfect party for a 10-year-old boy – and apparently for the 42-year-old man I’m married to. He loved it, and the movie made us think of him. 🙂
